Go for it! Whatever floats your boat. It's your boat and you paid for it.
Me, I'm stuck on wood and have some genuine Bawanna Super Thins on my pride and joy CBOB to prove it. Most people say nice things about my grips, but they may just be polite. It puffs up my head a little, but in reality, I could care less. Getting old and crotchety has a positive side too.

Wow! Bawanna sure makes some beautiful grips! That's one thing I hate about the polymer Kahrs. You can't put some nice grips like this on them!
I guess this means I'll have to get a 1911, huh?
Bawanna, I'll let you know when I do.Very interesting...

I'll be standing by. Hopefully in about 3 weeks I'll have these weddings done and over with and get back to a semi normal life and hopefully the sawdust will fly.
Those pearl grips are probably synthetic and most likely wouldn't crack but of course I can't know that for sure, I'd hate to tell you your safe and then have them crack.
Pattons were indeed ivory which is in some cases even more brittle and subject to cracking.
Give me some time and I can build ya some range grips that you won't be ashamed of I'm sure.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

And, Bawanna's, I am sure. He is "The Man".
I like the thin grip on a single-stack 1911, but I'll still need the Bawanna Super Thins to make it fit my very small, crippled hands better. My hands are halfway paralyzed, as well as my wrists, forearms, feet and legs because of a slowly progressive hereditary neuropathy. That is why I was drawn to the simplicity of Kahr pistols. But you guys have made me fall in love with the venerable 1911!
Here is a nice picture of one. My last name begins with E, so the monogram on the grips is cool, too!
Don't you love the fish scale pattern in the slide serrations and the grip checkering?Last edited by JFootin; 07-07-2011, 05:56 PM.Very interesting...

We have been starving ourselves for weeks in preparation for the festivities. :hungry: And we're sure your daughter will greatly appreciate the McDonald's coupons we have ready to gift to her. Just so you know, this is also our official RSVP that we will be coming!! And yes, you can sleep in the guest bed again and we'll be taking your room once again - it sure was comfy the last time around! Much love from your favorite nephew and niece!"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."

Originally posted by MikeyKahr View PostWell, uncle B, me and Mrs. MikeyKahr are still waiting anxiously for our invitations to arrive. Surely it's simply an oversight on the part of the postal service like the last time around - you still can't harbor bitterness over that fistfight at cousin Susie's wedding a few years back? Or my wife's slightly putrid carp stew we brought over for the family BBQ? Or the time I accidently borrowed that case of reloads and shot them without asking for your permission? Or the time I was fondling the CBOB and dropped it down the stairs and accidently carved my initials in your favorite grips? I did say I was sorry you know!!!

I'm sure she's forgotten that by now although she does seem to break into hives whenver around wool.
We'll see ya on Saturday, unless of course you stop by friday for the rehearsal since there will be free grub there too.
Tell your wife if she dumps another full bottle of Mr Bubble in the hot tub I'm gonna be extremely perturbed though.
I'm so anxious for all this to be over and done with. It's already been a crazy week, we're getting very close.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!
