My K9 is a great addition to my CC rotation. I carry IWB using a Tucker holster without any weight issues. Carry away...

k9 happens to be my favorite model, the weight boils down your preference...its actually not that bad. If you have larger hands you will find the grip to be a beautiful thing. It does react a bit differently than the polymer frames but either way its a great piece. If you have fte's consistently they had a time when the slides werent cut right and many of them left that way and were not caught....it it does get that issue they should be able to fix it on first try since they are aware of it. Other than that as long as you dont handrack it and follow instruction you will do just fine....also keep in mind its stainless steel however that should actually be termed stained resistant....always keep it lightly coated with oil and especially the side that touched your skin. By no means have it oiled and lay it down against a cardboard box, some cardboard contains tanic acid and when it gets wet it can actually stain the slide.

u can hand rack any kahr, but it takes somehit and misses before u get the hang of propper hand racking. I couldn;'t handrack y PM9 at first, just wasnot doing it right but after the gun and I got to know each other better.I have nbo issues hand racking. One should learn hand racking incase of misfires, jams etc.
I do think hars states that becuase if not, some would be sending back their kahrs in the first 200 rounds due to not loading around properly when hand racking.I think it is kahrs way of saying pracxtice does not ake perfect but perfect practice does... My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

The K series probably have a more fanatical following then the P and CW series. As stated, they are not for pocket carry but are designed for concealed belt carry. I had to dump a K40 years ago because of reliability issues but still miss that solid feel. Although I carry a P9 now if that K40 would have worked or I would have gotten the K9 instead it would probably still be following me around.

Hand racking the slide when rechambering is my method of choice on both my XDm and k9. I can see where it might cause issues with not being able to grip it properly due to its little slide.Originally posted by jocko View Postu can hand rack any kahr, but it takes somehit and misses before u get the hang of propper hand racking. Jocko...I just didn't want to be doing something that might cause damage to the gun, but now I'm thinking what you say above is probably why they state that in there manuel.

While not a K9, my K40 is my primary off-duty weapon. I don't find it to be too heavy although I still wish my jammatic CW40 had worked for me, it was sweet to carry.
On the subject of hand racking vs. using the slide release, my K40 has never failed to fully chamber and seat a round by hand racking. I use both methods (hand racking and slide relase) interchangeably with my Kahr and duty weapon (Glock 23) and feel fortunate that either method works for both.
