Kahr and remington will get this fella right. What we think kahr should or should not do is not our decision. Sure we want this gun made whole again but why hammoer Kahr when it is not their fault. There is some liability behind when a company fixes sumpin that is not their fault but does so anyways. to many lawyers today just sitting there playing with themselves looking for any kind of busness. Just fact of life.

I do think kahr cold have made this fella a far better price but again, this is what I think. I feel remington wants that casing to indeed verify that it is their case and maybe even do soe foenic sh!t tothe case to verify it has never been tampered with kand then they will step up to the plate and work with the owner and kahr over this repair.

Let the system work. I think Kinetic has approaced this as good as he can. He felt he was not treated right with H & K and moved on, this might also be the case here for him. Sh!t happens. Goodwill goes a long way also, so that is why I do feel one or both companies will do the right thing. But heh, WTF $9k0 to ship a broken blown up gun back to the maker. That is fokking bull sh!t but we seem to over look that...

Course over the years I have shipped quite a few HIGH SPEED HOLE PUNCH parts back to gun makers rugular UPS for less than $15. IMO the first one who can get his d!ck out with the UPS people gets he best fokk. Just sayin
Please proofread your post before replying. Your last paragraph is incoherent.
I lack confidence in my local dealer to submit a gun for their repair. Frankly I don't want them involved at all. Check my location...nothing is cheap or logical here. Due to the complexity of the malfunction and its cause, recommendations from board members here, and the fact that the weapon is less than a year old...I sent the K9 to its maker for inspection & repair...possibly a warranty repair. Who else would be better under the circumstances? Do what you want with your K9.

The gun was overnighted to Kahr because it must travel by air and I'd prefer a quicker turn around. I included a well detailed letter of the weapon's history, details of the malfunction, all my contact info, and even sample UMC ammo to test. A month went by without word from Kahr...no replies to my email inquires. Finally I called them...they gave me a vague explanation and a repair quote. It seemed as if they were being very tight lipped on the details...I felt that I was being blown off. So would you. I'm not blaming Kahr for the malfunction, but I'm not giving them high marks for customer service either. Remington on the other hand, they seem to be taking this seriously.

So here I am nearly two months after the malfunction without my weapon or a conclusive answer. And Monday I have to call up Kahr again to follow up and see if they shipped that little casing to Remington...and I wonder if I have to send Kahr another check to cover the removal and shipping of the casing in question. This is my only pistol and I feel that I should buy a second pistol now...so that I'll have a backup for now and in the future. Should I buy another Kahr?

I certainly appreciate that you are in a tough situation Kinetic. Hang in there. We wish you the best.

FYI: it takes 30 posts before you can attach pictures to this forum. And most people find it takes a couple of hundred before they understand Jocko-ese.

          Just sayin'.

          I am kinda surprised you haven't bought a CM9 as a backup-whilemygunisintheshop-andmightaswellpocketcarryonceinawhile gun.

Yes actually. Remington called today. The rep that I've been dealing with said she received the casing from Kahr, and asked me to send back my remaining UMC ammo to the ammo plant. Which I will do in the morning with the pre-paid shipping label that Remington provided me in Nov.

              I'll keep you posted.

Remington came through for me big time apparently. They received the busted bullet casing from Kahr and tested all of my other UMC ammo...this took months. They gave me no details, but overnighted a check to Kahr early this week. The Remington service woman said she also sent me some replacement ammo too.

I emailed the gunsmith at Kahr. He emailed me back and said I should have my K9 on Friday of this week. No details on what was repaired.

I'll update you guys as soon as I receive my weapon back and inspect it.

Good news for you that's great. Now only one stage in this saga left. Hope Kahr comes thru for you with the repairs that will entirely fix your K9 or a new one.

                          Final Outcome

Remington received and tested all of my remaining UMC ammo...this took several weeks. They did not provide any testing details or outcome, but Remington over-nighted a check to Kahr. This check covered all repairs, including a new magazine and CT laser grips. Remington also sent me 600 rounds of replacement ammo. I would say that the communication with Remington and the customer service that I received was very good. I'll continue to use their UMC.

Overall this was a very disappointing experience. Communication from Kahr was very bad. They even sent my repaired K9 to my old address (from November) without telling me that the weapon was finally repaired or shipping out. I included specific shipping instructions with the weapon initially so that it could be safely signed for at my office. My rear XS sight has a broken vial now, but I'm not sure when this occurred. So my K9 slide will go to XS next week for repair.

I acquired a Glock26 since this incident occurred. This new weapon is now my primary. I'm not certain what I will do with the K9, but I can tell you that I've lost faith/confidence in the weapon and Kahr Arms.

Why the loss in faith on the gun? It sounds like ammo was at fault. Feed bad ammo to the Glock and I'm sure you'll get similar, if not worse results.

WOW u lost faith in ur K9 cause the fokkling ammo was bad, and kahr didn't kiss ur ass like u wanted. Sure makes sense to me. For remington to pay ur bill and to send u 600 rounds of ammo sure in the fokk looks like kahr is 100% at fault. Just sayin

Put ur K9 for sale on this fourm andit will be gone in a heartbeat...

. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

No one would want such a faulty weapon. I'll do you the service and take it off you hands just to save your conscious. I'll even pay shipping!
