Installed new wood grips and.....

Usually the factory wood grips fit fine, seldom hear of them not doing so. Being wood they can warp or shrink or swell a bit and the fit goes right out the window.

I wish they would slim the factory ones down a bit, I've slimmed down several factory grips, there's plenty of room to do so.

I too do love the feel of the soft rubber grips on the K's I have as well, feels good.

Kahr does mention on their website that minor fitting may be required. Overall the grips fit & feel nicely, its that slight gap at the rear that I don't like...And it can be corrected with patience & a little sanding...

I love the standard rubber grips however since this is one of my primary carry guns (CM9 is my other) the rubber grip does catch on clothing whereas after first trying on the wood grips, they obviously didn't. There are high quality grips & once fitted properly should last many years

Coat the contact edges of the frame with bright-colored lipstick. Install. Remove and check to see where lipstick has transferred to the grip. This should indicate any high spots that may be interfering with proper installation.

I was thinking to just snug up the 2 bottom screws about 1/4th turn each and let them warp in.

iF U TRULY HAVE THE Old style Hogue rubber grips you have the best of any grip ever made for the K series. They are thinner than the wood, they absorb recoil better they don't scratch, they look good IMO, and many owners would pay dearly for those rubber grips. Why kahr stopped putting them on is a mystery to me and therefore Hogue doesn't make them anymore either...I never liked the wood grips as up by the top of the grip where it rides close to the strigger bar at the back is a metal insert on the back of that wooden grip that is a very weak earea. Hit if ever so slighly and you have a worthless wood grip..

I bought my pistol new, serial #BF4*** early last year. The grips are what I describe as a hard but semi flexible silicon rubber. Very tacky, very nice grips..

they are not the old style RUBBER grips by Hogue..
