You sure are a brave soul admitting that on this forum.Originally posted by cloud View Postfor me it is about 50/50. My cm9 went right from the lgs to range and has been perfect. My p380 I brought home and did the proper prep. It is back with kahr. My last ruger I prepped . The one before that went straight to the range. Now all my guns get a good cleaning and lube when I get them home from the range.

cabelas is showing herters 380acp ammo in stock for $16.99 50 rounds .If you pay with the cabelas visa and apply the code 453classic it is with free shipping.Originally posted by b4uqzme View PostMaybe it depends on where you live. Muggs and I are in Ohio and can buy 380 Blazer Brass for less than 50 cents per round. I'd like to run across some of that 16.99 stuff though. Seems we're not that blessed.

Every new gun should be disassembled, cleaned, inspected and lubed before it is shot. That's a common sense rule that everyone should follow. It a practice recommended by every gun manufacturer. Just as every gun should be checked for a bore obstruction before it is fired. I guess that common sense just isn't that common anymore. As to what could be wrong with this particular gun, I'd look to the last thing that was done to it by the owner. Improper reassembly or lubrication could be the cause.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

Don't give up, I had to send mine back after about 4-500 rounds. I should be receiving it back this Monday 11/11/13 . The gunsmith from kahr called me last week and told me he replaced the barrel among other things. I will report back once I receive the gun and look at the paper work.Originally posted by dbp67 View PostAppreciate everyone's input. I am going to go and shoot 100 or so rounds today and see what happens.

Why was it sent back to Kahr? What problems were you having?Originally posted by cloud View PostDon't give up, I had to send mine back after about 4-500 rounds. Is it a P380?

It was working good to the last time at the range. I have between 4-500 rounds through the gun . The slide wouldn't look back on the last round and the spent brass was hitting me in the face. The gunsmith called last week and said he replaced the barrel , guide springs, and magazine springs. I will know more when I receive it on Monday.Originally posted by dbp67 View PostWhy was it sent back to Kahr? What problems were you having?

The barrel was replaced because the gunsmith did not like the way ammo would feed.(I think he was using Winchester white box) I was using the magtech ammo with out any prior problems. Always liked the gun and looking forward to shooting it next week. Yes it is a p380 .

OK - Just shot 100 rds.
The good news: I'm getting use to the trigger and my accuracy is improving with this little gun.
The bad news: Still having major problems with failure to feed and in addition now about 5 failure to lock slide back after last round. Out of the 100 rds shot I had FTF 19 times.
BTW -- I cleaned the gun and magazine by the detailed directions given on this forum before shooting.
I'm not yet ready to say it is the gun. I will try and find some factory ammo and give it a try and see what happens. I'm just not used to a gun that may possibly be finicky about what it will shoot. I have a Glock 26 with well over 1000 rds that eats anything I feed it.

Update
OK -- Went to range and shot the factory ammo.
Magtech - 50 rounds with nary a hiccup
Remington WB - 50 rounds and had one failure to feed and two slide not back on last round. In fairness to the gun I think the one FTF may have been my bad -- let the grip slip a little.
The two slide lock issues I'm not sure about.
The Magtech seems to run well for practice. I'm gonna pick up 100 rds more of the Magtech and run it through to see the results.
It's obvious to me now that the reman ammo just won't feed properly through this gun.
One more box of Buffalo Bore SD ammo and I'm getting close to calling the P380 my EDC.
Thanks for all the advice.

Good reports. Stick with it. I ran across some Summit Ammunition reloads. Seems to be pretty good stuff for reloaded ammo. 380 auto is $16.95/50 at my LGS. It ran well thru my MDE380 but I haven't tried it in a Kahr. I did buy some 9mm and 40sw. I'll let you know. Anyone else tried this stuff?O|||||||O
