As far a Kahr not giving you a pp shipping label your gun has not malfunctioned only peened the RSA. If you would have SAID it was malfunctioning & stated the machining defect where the RSA rests you might have been given a pp label.

That is a good point. I will remember that the next time (I hope there is not a next time) I need to send in a gun. Thanks kerby9mm.

This link rates corrisionX very well on rust prevention. http://www.dayattherange.com/?page_id=3667
This is my first gun I have had to send in. It has been 2 weeks since they received it but they said they had a 2-3 week return time so I will probably call them in week 3 if it is not here. Thanks for the link, very interesting.

I emailed Kahr on Monday. I called them first and they had limited staffing due to the weather. They emailed me back the next day and said they had sent out my gun a week ago. They sent it to the FFL who shipped it for me. They said that since the FFL sent it in they had to send it back to them. I contacted the FFL and they did have it. It seems they called me and left a couple of messages but my voice-mail was goofy and I did not know they called. I picked up my gun and there was a note that they replaced the frame. I guess it was easier to replace it than fix it. They did not replace the recoil assembly but when I emailed them they said they would send me a new one. One odd thing was that they (Kahr) never contacted me to let me know it was finished and they were sending it back.

They put my slide and barrel on a new frame with a new SN. The link below is a picture of old frame versus the new frame. It definitely looks different. I have not shot it yet but in the letter Kahr said that they put 80 rounds through the gun. All in all happy it is fixed. Once the new recoil spring assembly is sent and I install it, it will almost be a new gun. I hope to get to the range next week but don't expect any problems since it did shoot before.
