  • CW9 with Dawson or Trijicon front sight?

So am now thinking of adding a CW9 to the mix and wondering about going with a Dawson tritium or Trijicon front sight.
Have read that the Dawson is a stake-on and not screwed on. So how do the stake-on sights install? Never had any before.

Anyone using either of these on a CW/CM pistol?
    Opinions???

I have a dawson tritium on my cw9. It comes with a little tool to swage the bottom of the pin. So far it's held fast with no loosening. It's easy to do if you're even slightly handy. I recall reading that some of the screw in sights had a propensity to fly off, but that was some time ago. HTH, Steve

I have the screw-in front sight on my CW9 and with a little bit of locktight no problems with them so far after about 1,000 rounds.

The notch is supposed to be there as well as the bulge at the front of the frame!

andI would not expect any issue either. Put um on wrong, yup, not the sights fault, put um on right, yup GOOD SIGHTS
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I have the Trijicon screwed. Takes some finagling as the screw is quite small, but works perfectly.

I have the Dawson. I'm not at all handy with tools but I got mine on just fine.

I just find them dimmer than I anticipated. My first night sights however so difficult for me to compare. All I know was that I was just a tad disappointed, but it could be me.

All night sights aren't that bright. But they sure do stick out in dim lighting.

Left my CW9 in my pocket one night and I could see the sight through the pocket material (inside not outside)! Do you think I need to go get a test for radiation?

Mine are the trijicon that I got from Kahr.

Man I'm jealous! All the night sights I've ever owned or seen were somewhat dim, always thought they were that way by design so as not to overwhelm your eye in the dark?

Focus on your front sight..... The rest should be blurry!

What rear sight are you using with the Trijicon? Factory Kahr or Trijicons?

Ordered the trijicon sights for the CW9 from Kahr. Front sight went on in about 5-10min - simple.
The rear trijicon sight was much harder. Took quite some time to get it (the sight) fitted to the frame dovetail by SLOWLY filling down the rear sight base (angles) and fitting it into the dovetail by trial and error. But once installed and sighted-in they do not move under fire and are very bright.

Pros: Front sight is easy to install.
                              Are metal vs. polymer(plastic)
                              Are exceptionally bright.

Cons: The rear sight is not easy to fit. Momma, don't let your kids try this at home.
I used a padded vice, punch (brass hammer) and a small fine metal file (a little at a time) to fit.
Better would have been to use a sight drift but would still probably of had to do some fitting of the sight to the slide (not the other way around).
Better yet, for most, send the slide back to Kahr and have them do it.
