  • damage to chamber?

I was inspecting the barrel of my new P380 after putting 200 rounds though it and it looks like there might be some damage to the chamber. There is one section where it almost looks like the finish has worn off on the inside if that makes sense. I tired cleaning but nothing it won't come loose which makes me think its some sort of finish issue?

I attempted to take some photos. Here are the best of them.

Others have reported problems with the plating flaking off. Kahr will make it right.

So I called Kahr this morning and they told me its only a cosmetic issue and that it shouldn't harm function at all. That I can send it in if I want for one of the gunsmiths to look at it but basically they told me not to bother.

That's bologna. If you're not happy they should do what they can to come to some kind of agreement.

I agree. Even if it IS only cosmetic (which I question) .... since when does cosmetic not matter?

If the clearances on the slide rails were not right and they were getting chewed up with every shot, eventually they would wear in to a point of proper clearance .... so does that make it not warranty?

don't do much, just send the barrel to kahr, u can do that regular mail for about $6. Not my decision to sayt to keep or send it back. For me if the gun during break in was doing great and reliable, I might be tempte dto keep it as such for if they replace the barrel , then u just never know.

I would want to be very sur eit is flaking and maybe not some stain in the finish, for if it is a stain, it willnot clean out b ut also it willnot hurt one thing either. If it is falking, then that is sumpin that kahr should see and determine.

I called back and spoke with someone else today and they sent me a shipping label at their cost to send the gun back to them to look it. Its definitely not a stain because you can see its ruff with your finger.

They told me to send the entire gun since they will change out the barrel and need to fit the new one.

Lets hope it functions as well as it did when I sent it off.

                    ^^^^^^

That's the right answer. Let us know how it functions when you get it back.

I thought the barrel was stainless steel, not plated. Are you sure it's not leading? You aren't supposed to use lead bullets in a polygonal barrel.

I thought these barrels were stainless also. Why would they plate a stainless barrel?

they are stainless and they do nickel plate all their barrels. If done right it is super, u won't wear out the nickel plating. Kahr does not nickel plate their barrels it is done by a plating co...
