PM9 owners, do me a favor... question for ya

I've tried google and can't really find any results I did see one pm9 that appeared to have the same thing...

looking at the rear striker plate (cover you take off for detail strip) on the top left tab mine appears to be sticking out quite a bit and not flush with the striker cover plate like the right side is......

is this normal?? does your frame tab stick out a bit...??

just curious if they mold it this way, its probably not a mechanical issue but something I'm inquiring about...

My cw9 does a tad. Purely cosmetic. I try not to pay attention to kahrs random cosmetic issues. They don't seem care for the details.

My PM9 is the same. Purchased early this year 2014.

It's not normal, but it's not unusual. Some fit closer than others. It's cosmetic, but it won't impair function.

I can see this cosmetic defect on maybe the bottom priced CW series but on a PM? That's not good.

It doesn't bother me a bit. I barely noticed it, before it was pointed out. I've felt the sharp edge before, when handling it... but never thought much about it.

It's a very well made CCW pistol, quality, compact size, accurate, good trigger, points naturally, hardly any recoil, reliable, and it has good nights sights.. The machining quality and engineering/design has me impressed. Exactly what I was looking for a CCW/LTC/EDC pistol.

Thanks guys I guess I'll just live with it, but after field striping it last night I see no reason it should be there mechanically and think its an over sight cosmetically which to be honest with you, bothers me..... It just looks off, broke even to some extent, you'd think after the first molding they would have spot this and said "what will people thing", but instead went ahead and produced them like that.... I've never seen anything like this in all the striker fired pistols I've owned..

I have a similar issue with my CW45, but it's more likely because I asked for all my old parts be used when they replaced the frame. Here's what I did to make it...let's say, ... more "palatable": http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.p...204#post311204

The same area on my G19 is recessed from the rear of the slide, nothing I can do there but live with it.

I agree with you on the PM9 is a great carry piece. I wanted something thinner than my G27 that I carry most of the time. But, I didn't want a .380 pocket pistol. PM9 was exactly what I was looking for the hotter Summer days.

California is a 'May' issue state. Officially in California it's called License To Carry or what many call CCW.

I didn't donate large sums of money to someone's political campaign. I'm not a: celebrity, super rich, Pharmacist, Doctor, Politician, Jeweler, Banker, Lawyer, Judge, nor am I an LEO. I'm just an ordinary law abiding average 'Joe'.

But, I do have a current and valid LTC/CCW for the State of California. I have a plastic California LTC Permit License (with my picture and fingerprint on it) in my wallet, issued by my County Sheriff that says I can carry a concealed firearm in the State of California. I carry a concealed pistol everyday, legally on my person.

The County Sheriff or CLEO (Chief Law Enforcement Officer) can approves and issues LTC/CCW to the citizens living in their County. A California LTC/CCW is good through out the whole State, not just in the County that they are issued in.

My San Bernardino County Sheriff is very Pro 2A, he believes in law abiding citizens with good moral character can be issued a LTC. My County Sheriff Dept encourages it's citizens to apply for a LTC. With a LTC/CCW approval rates in the 90%+ range.

San Bernardino County (largest County in the whole US) isn't out in the sticks, we're right next to Los Angeles County. I happen to also work in LA County.

Now for Los Angeles, San Fransisco County residents and other 'Blue' Counties you can forget about every getting a LTC/CCW in California. Until the Higher Courts makes them change.

Redhorse good for you.... and may I add I'm blown away that you really got a carry permit.. I was born/raised in L.A. and surrounding areas up til 7yrs ago, I lived in Riverside toward my last 10 yrs there as well as berdoo and never even tried to apply, this must be a new world order : ) I have many friends there but most I haven't spoken to in a few years now but this interests me as before I knew many who applied and were shot down, these were honest citizens with zero record.... Even armed security couldn't get a ccw only allowed to carry on the job...

my post didn't mean to call you out and sometimes my verbiage on the computer isn't very well translated from what I meant to say....

maybe I need to contact people I know in your area and give them the news if they haven't already received it...

I took no offense. Things have changed for the better regarding California LTC.

When the Politicians banned Open Carry in California only a couple years ago, it backfired on them. Something had to give and LTC is getting easier to get in places where it used to be impossible to get. The Courts have been ruling in our favor.

• Last two Sheriffs in San Bernardino County have basically been Shall issue. Self Defense is a Good Cause for LTC.
• Kern Co has been Shall issue for years.
• Sacramento Co (Surprise!) has been Shall issue now for a couple years.
• Riverside Co requires a Good Cause, not as easy to get as San Berdo, but they are issuing LTC if you can work within their LTC guidelines.
• Orange Co was Shall issue for years. Then went restrictive for a couple of years with their newly elected Sheriff (originally from LA County) was voted in. A lot of pre-existing CCW from the previous elected Sheriff were revoked, upon their renewal dates. Now this year with the 9th Court ruling for San Diego, the same Sheriff has turned 180 and is now issuing new LTC. OC is back to Shall issue for Self Defense as a Good Cause.
• Ventura Co may start issuing LTC for Self Defense Good Cause.
• Many of the smaller rural Counties away from the coast have been Shall issue for years.

Many of the restrictive Sheriffs are waiting to see if the recent 9th Court ruling sticks or will be challenged. Before changing their restrictive policies towards issuing LTC. Some County Sheriffs are still in denial and are in wait and see mode.
