Never hurts to ask! It's probably not what you were looking for, but here she is with our pug...

Dad's a deputy with the Forrest County Sheriff's Office in Hattiesburg, MS. They have to supply most of their own kit down there, and I couldn't be happier that he's got a tad more firepower with him now. Here's a link to his build:

    Dad's Zombie Kit

    -Spike's ST-15 Lower
    -Spike's Enhanced LPK (NiB FCG)
    -Spike's ST-T2 buffer
-Spike's Midlength LE Upper with their new 9" BAR
    -Magpul Rear BUIS
    -Magpul CTR stock
    -Magpul PMAGs
    -Ergo grip
-Primary Arms Micro Dot Gen 3 (cheap, but effective)
(And that's my GI posing with it in the last shot...lots of subtle enhancements there.)

Another shot of the GI, fresh from the range and still a little gritty:

No neckties here, except for fancy occasions...which I'm guessing automatically excludes KahrTalk.

Gosh darn she's a cutie for sure. Hope you don't mind but I just posted it on U Tube and said she was my girlfriend. (yeah right, like I know how to do that.) Cute an a supporter of a gun nut. You struck pay dirt my friend.

I am fully aware and appreciative of how lucky I am. Been less lucky before, that's for sure.

Where are you patrolling? What's your carry rig? I'll have see if the old man has some fun tales to swap with you. Man, I love cop stories...especially over a 12-pack on the back deck. (makes me all nostalgic)

I am a PM45 owner, also here in the 615 area code. Here are a few things I did to my KAHR that I think sweetened her up a little bit.

          1. Installed Tritium Night sights / Novak rear. ( I feel the NOVAK is less likely to snag , when pocket carrying.)

          2. Smoothed the sharp edges of the Slide Release Lever, using a stone & fine sand paper. ( Mine is a Stainless Steel ) All the DLC owners will just have to live with what they have. )To me...this is another GOOD reason NOT to have the DLC coating.

          3. Installed a Hogue Handall Jr. Over the grip. By prepping it in boiling water for a minute or two. And, then using my amazing MAN-POWERS to stretch it on. ( THIS IS A MUST ) the KAHR grip will eat you alive if you shoot it alot.

And.....that is it. My baby is now perfect.*
So , welcome to the forum, feel free to join in the ReinDeer Games. And just ignore BAWANNA, he was raised by Wolves, and we are pretty sure they dropped him on his head a time or two..........
It's nice to know there are other active Kahr enthusiasts in Nashvegas!

Thanks for your tips on the sights. Being an old Sig shooter, I actually prefer a bar-dot "i" configuration, so I was considering the XS tritium option. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've also got the stainless slide, but had been eyeing the DLC. You make a pretty good argument for sticking with stainless. Still, I imagine one of the several Kahrs I'm likely to end up with will be all black.

As for BAWANNA, I've had a great time chatting with him already. This is going to be a fun board!

Oh, and my amazing MAN-POWERS go to 11!

I only patrol in my sick mind. I'm a sorry bonafide office puke in Monroe Wa. As the only male office puke, although neardeaf and using a wheelchair for transportation for 16 years, I do interact with the front line boys. My position (don't that sound mighty impotent?) as armorer keeps me close to the SWAT boys as well as the line troops. Plus I got the key to all the ammo and cool stuff so I'm in a good spot. Although I'd rather drive a Crown Vic than the stupid computer they make me drive. Oh well.
My carry rig is a Para Ordnance 7-45 LDA Limited in a Mernikle owb rig. The much coveted PM45 (affectionately know as "Tiny") rides on my ankle. I feel a little silly right now it's hotter than heck here now so I got shorts on but I'm still wearing the ankle rig. Sort of like black socks and sandels. I guess old guys can get by with that. It's dark and I'm inside so maybe no one will notice. The real men in the dept carry Glock 21's w/lights in safariland or blackhawk rigs.
Your dads a lucky guy to have you build him a rifle like that an he's smart to have it with him. It can be an ugly world out there for lawmen these days.
            I love cop stories too.

Let me see if I got this straight: you're the only man in an office with hot and cold running women AND you've got the keys to all the boom-sticks? I'd say that's a damn sweet gig! $10 of my own money says you're the biggest flirt those women know.

Do you ever get to do ride-alongs with patrol? I've never gotten to do that with my dad and I'd love to at least once.

Para is one of the few brands I've never owned. How do you like it? Is it yours or issued?

Tell me which one I'd like better for OWB carry...P45 or PM45. Does the P45's grip print badly under a fat guy's coat (aka, MY coat)? I'll probably end up with both at some point anyway.

(Opinion: I've owned 3 Glocks and have never liked them as much as anything else I've owned. You've got the better duty weapon.)

Dad was surprised (and happy) to get the AR. It was always my intention for both of us to own one, and I sleep easier knowing he has it now. Crimes against cops should be punishable by overwhelming and relentless firepower.

Remind me to tell you the story about the drunk driver who had trouble exiting his truck after running my dad and bro's patrol car off the interstate. He was apparently SO drunk his head kept hitting the steering wheel, the A-pillar, the window, and the door as pursuit LEOs tried to extract him from his vehicle. Sad story.

It was a joke son! I wouldn't do that for real in a million years. Besides I don't know how and I dont do too much of that online diary stuff anyhow.

As for the woman around here, theres very little temptation. The majority are "Full Figured". Some were not blessed with fully functioning brains, and the rest are nuttier that squirrel turds. No worries to my lovely wife around here.

The Para's are my own, I have 3 and I love them. I'm actually forbidden to carry (how did that PM45 get on my ankle?). I have a safe on my desk where I put my gun when I come in along with several others. It's all liability nonsense. I have access to 40 AR's, 10 or so unissued Glock 45's, and a pickup load of ammo but they dont want civilians walking around with guns.
I put in a request to carry a gun every year. So far it's been denied each time. He keeps telling me I might shoot myself in the eye!!!!
Chief carries an issued Para CCW since he didn't want a Glock. I should be chief.

The only thing about ride alongs and it might be different down there is when something good happens your the first person ejected on the sidewalk. They frown on ride alongs during pursuits or any response where theres a chance of injury. I have a slight advantage in that we're all friends and the wheelchair won't fit in the patrol car so I don't get dumped. But I've never had anything big happen either. Pretty quiet around here. The few situations I've gotten involved in were either nut cases in the office. One fella was about 6'6 300lbs and said he was our new officer and was here to pickup his uniform, gun and patrol car. Kind short a few cards of a deck. Front desk girl panicked and called for help while I went out with a tape measure to measure him for uniform pants. I finally got him out the front door into the waiting arms of about 12 cops by telling him I was gonna show him his brand new patrol car. I'm the only guy so have to protect the hens. Or I've driven up on them in my own van. Some good stories for sure.

bawanna I know all about that fella. HE WAS MY UNCLE "clyde". He always wanted to be a leo and he told me the story about some a-hole in a wheelchair conning him outside.Shame on you, old CLYDE never harmed anyone. He only had one knife in the drawer and it was pointed on both ends also, so never a decision did he have to make. again, shame on u.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I'll say hi for ya if I ever see him again. He's probably a fine fella, just needed a couple gallons of V8 to get him back close to plumb.

Well folks we had a little incident at the PD across the street from one of our campuses yesterday. Have one officer that needs to play the lottery, but fortunately only the gun man dead.
Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

The olive branch is considered a symbol of peace, and good will. Last time I checked, it's still a switch.

I did mention the "Dropped on the Head thing" Did,nt I ? )
I've been shooting 3 dots for so long now , it would be hard to change. Allthough, I am starting to come around to the Tritium dot front sight & blacked out rear sight, school of thinking.

The ONLY drawback to owning SIG'S is............BAWANNA cannot make custom grips for them ..............yet. But, he tells me that he is trying to work up the courage to attempt it someday.
I actually spent some quality time massaging my brain (didn't take long, size and all) on those sig grips you want the other day. Fall is coming hopefully with more bench time so while I wouldn't recommend holding your breath just yet I think they are gonna happen. One thing for certain, the first set of Sig grips off the bench are headed for Nashville on my dime. Call it a personal challenge. Wonder if the missus would let me buy a Sig so I got something to fit to. Worth a shot.
And I do love them XS sights immensely. They are just the perfect set up for me. I wouldn't swap em for anything else for a weekend with Hefner. Perhaps I should rethink that, he's surrounded by angels????
