Metal clips are cheap and readily available. Separate Kydex clips are easy to make and can be replaced if (when) they break. The problem with the integrated Kydex clip is that it can break off (especially in cold weather) and then it's not replaceable. The holster makers who already offer this design always caution their customers to only flex the Kydex clip enough to get the holster on, or it will very likely break off. Even companies like Kholster who offer Kydex clips separately do not put a warranty on Kydex clips because they break so often. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

This I have not heard of, not saying it isn't true but probably not likely. If someone is flexing the holster to put it on to the point of breaking it, they either have catcher mitts for paws and don't know their own strength or have no clue. For the majority of the stuff out there they should not have to be flexed to put them on. If you just hold your pants and push the holster they should go right on, my personal holsters with the belt clip go between the belt and pants and theoretically you would be flexing your belt and not the holster.Originally posted by Warhammer View PostMetal clips are cheap and readily available.
