I have to agree with you on the caliber choice Jinx-I'd rather have my P380 in my pocket than my CW40 in the night stand! I also have a PM9 and it's too big for me to stick in my pocket.

I've been getting used to carrying some of my pistols in an IWB holster now that I've found one that's pretty comfortable and made for Lefty's. It's still easier to drop the P380 in my pocket though!!!

      !

Thanks copter. It's not that i disregard the people who would prefer a bigger caliber, I'm sure if i'm ever in a moment where i need to use it, i'll wish i had something bigger no doubt, but i'll be glad i have something!

Everytime i see a picture of the Kahr p380 I really want one

Well thats enough for me. Get ole Bud's rang up on the crystal ball, have that credit card ready and get that thing headed to your neighborhood.
Let the chips fall where they may. If you wife balks, just tell her Jocko said it was A OK.

If you live near Tacoma I'd get 2 for you and 2 for your wife, if theres kids get 2 for each of them as well.

Hearing the phrase want one, just melts me. I've been there so many many times and the want list continues to grow hourly.

Gotta say I'm amazed everytime I shoot the P380-having started with a Keltec P3AT. I really don't "enjoy" shooting the P3AT but I don't have any problem firing it. The P380 is actually FUN to shoot and when I shoot a box of bullets at 7 yards I usually end up with a shot-out two inch hole with the very occasional ((less than 2 inch) flyer on the target.

I've been "prepping" or "fluffing and buffing" my pistols long before I knew the procedure had a name and naturally I of course did it to the P380. With that being said, I still had to run about 300 rounds through it before it would run a box of bullets without a hang-up or two and that didn't upset me at all. Lets face it, this is a TINY pistol that has very little room for anything not "just right". If I'm shooting it at the range I usually give it a quick cleaning at 100 rounds as it tends to hang up (very rarely) when it's dirty. I don't shoot the gun that I'm actually "carrying" when I go to the range-can't stand carrying a "dirty" gun.

I have shot several other .380's and found that the P380 was the best. The recoil in the Ruger LCP was snappy and i did not like the fact that the slide on both the Ruger and Kel-Tec did not stay open after the last round was fired. I know the Kahr is higher in price, but it worth every dollar spent.

I own both the CW9 and the P380 and both are excellent pistols.

I have shot a P9 owned by a friend and I found that the muzzle flash was considerable in the small bbl., something that should be considerd in a defensive firearm.

P9 and cw9 both basically the same guns, why wouldyou say the cw9 was an excellent pistol and then say the P9 had alot of muzzle flash. Possably different ammo would cause different muzzle flash. Both guns are the same
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I really liked shooting the P380. Great trigger and good sights. I traded mine after 1400 rounds and two trips to Kahr could not make it reliable. It was an early gun, serial # below 300. Do you think I might have better luck with a later issue one?

Ihad even earlier # under 150, it went back once also, now very reliable, about 1500 rounds through it, I just never shoot it any more. Hopefully they are better today. very nice gu though, once one gets thequirks out of it.

I dont think ordering online is merit anymore most stores want 50 dollars to do a transfer, and when i was at a local pawn shop i saw a peice of paper that said they NOW much charge TAX on the price of the PISTOL in addition to their transfer fee... I can find the kahr p380 locally for about 589 before tax.. course our tax rate is about 10% so that would be about 635 or so give or take a few bucks, after taxes.. I'd really rather find a used one for little less... thats probably gonna be my stepping point... I'm also kind of lusting after a Beretta PX4 storm. dont ask my why i'm lusting after two guns at once, i dont know..

Well, I ordered my P380 for $451, free shipping, no tax. My FFL charges a flat $10 transfer fee and that covers more than one gun if he does them together. Best price I've seen local was $575 before tax. (that's about $165 difference)

                            Couldn't take it!

Well I ordered one! i didn't get THAT great of a deal, but i won an auction off gunbroker, for 460 for the gun, then he's 20 bucks shipping to my FFL, who will then charge 15 dollars to do the transfer. so about 495 bucks after all said and done. I feel i did pretty good, its claimed as 'new in box'.

                            Thats the one! I'm excited!

Good stuff. Earlier I wasn't bagging your choice for a mouse gun, well not too badly. I was thinking that there isn't really any difference in the size of the PM9/40 over the 380. Then again, I got rid of my 380 for a reason. Remember ammo was in short supply not too long ago for that caliber (which is why I got rid of mine). The world is different now, and one must plan accordingly.
Enjoy your new toy, I hope it works out well for you. Eventually, it'll breed another Kahr or four though, so watch out for that.

I bought one of the first 250 P380's made, had to go back once,m it runs great > have the xs big dots on it and love um to death. The gun in my hands shoots better for me than my PM9 BUT all that being said, Ijust never carry it. My PM9 is bi8gger but anything can be classifed as bigger when comparing to the P380. My PM9 can ride and does ride with ease in my front pocket and I like the 9mm fire power over the 380 any day.

Having an lcp also, I certainly don't need two 380's sitting around, so I gave my son the lcp and I have the P380 sitting loaded in a longabarger basket. It is a top quality peace but I just did not need it and when 380 ammo went south on me, it pissed me off and I just was not gonna pay that rip off price for 380 ammo. Itis still IMO to pricey but mine is loaded with powerball.
