I'm going to throw out why I chose the P380 over the PM9. My first Kahr was a DLC PM9 a couple of years ago. I was, and still am, a SIG fan after carrying one for years on the job. The PM9 totally amazed me as it was so light, shootable and accurate. Never an issue. They are a great little 9mm and I certainly wouldn't put them down. One of my hunting buddies had not yet retired and, after shooting my PM9, wouldn't leave me alone until I sold it to him. He wanted it for a BUG.

I soon picked up a DLC K9 that I found a buy on. This one did have one issue that Kahr promptly took care of. However, it had the NYPD trigger and I could really tell the difference. It eventually went. Later, I found a good deal on a PM9 with factory night sights and picked it up. Again, no issues, very accurate and a neat little pistol. But I only carried it as a BUG. When I carried just one it was something a little larger, usually a SIG 239 or a small .357 revolver. As a BUG it always seemed just a little large. I could pocket carry the S&W easier (but not easy) than the PM9. I actually liked the 2 tone PM9 better than the DLC. That one eventually left.

In my mind I kept comparing the DLC K9 that I had with my SIG P239. The K9 won every time I did that. So, I looked for a K9 and found a good deal on an elite model. I probably would have gotten the standard one but the elite was what I found available. I am now getting close to 1,000 rounds thru it and it is an amazing little pistol. More accurate than my larger SIGs, all metal (which I like) and although heavy much more concealable than my SIGs. I carried it with the S&W as BUG and had a pretty good combination, I thought.

Then, I handled a P380. To me, it's exactly what a BUG should be. In my mind, the caliber is not as good as a 9mm, but with the right ammo it's better than some of the smaller calibers normally used as a BUG. It's not far off from a standard pressure .38 cal. Ammo now is certainly available. I even found a great buy on some 50 round boxes of GDHP so I've got that stored for after the break in period which I'm about half way thru. I'm not going to carry this until I hit 500 rounds. So far, so good.

Again, my P380 is intended for back up. I think it's perfect for that role. If I only carried one, it would probably be the K9 and if I wanted something lighter, a P9. I find them only slighty larger than the PM9 and like that better.

My SIG P239 is long gone. Now if Kahr would only come out with a K45! I've handled the PM45, which I like, but I really like my P220 also.

But, I am impressed withe the P380!

I never realized there was that much of a size difference between the Kahrs. Then again, I swore off 9mm and 380, so I don't really pay much attention to things on that end of the spectrum. For me a PM40, and PM45 gets my motor running, and I lust after the K/MK45 as well. I also don't mind a big heavy pistol either, as Clint Smith says "It's a big gun when I put it on, and a big gun when I pull it out."
Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

The olive branch is considered a symbol of peace, and good will. Last time I checked, it's still a switch.

Congrats! You'll be amazed at this BIG little gun... it has all of the features of the other Kahrs.

And... I can't believe that Kahr hasn't produced a K45 yet. Surely they must have tried or are trying. They must have had problems with the larger caliber. I would sure like one! All stainless or DLC... with night sights, of course.

I am amazed! i LOVE IT! best pistol i've purchase din a long while.. I cannot tell you why, but I am SOOO accurate with this thing at reasonable ranges (30 feet and closer) more than i am with any of my 9mm's (which i always shoot high and to the left for some reason). But this gun shoots dead on almost. I love, and its recoil is nothing near what i feared. It almost doesnt even feel like i'm shooting a .380. I dare say it's significantly more cormfortable to shoot than my keltec p32. But I'll wait till the replacement comes back and give em a side by side
