  • I got this Kydex-reinforced Looper gun belt from Kahr Shop:

Showing the belt buckle... appears to be brass... and the holes.

I hope the belt will help me CCW with more stability than my cheapie belts.

Pix of the 9mm mags with O-rings. The smaller ones are 3/32" and 3/4" inner diameter, so should fit tighter and not be too big. I got the smaller ones on the way back home:

And the broken follower... front skirt separated:

I had a lot of fun, and the 9mm mags having problems didn't detract from the pleasure I got pulling the trigger and punching holes in the targets!

      150 Blazer Aluminum-cased 165-gr FMJ
      38 MFS/Fiocchi 180-gr FMJ
      21 Speer 165-gr Gold Dots
      209 rounds + previous ~680= ~889 Total.

I actually brought 12 MFS and 8 GDs back home.

      • Dayum, Wynn! That is a great picture of a fire breathing fotay! Thanks for sharing.

You almost make me want to send something to Mag-na-port.
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

          Dang!

I haven't looked there in a while. I never had any guns done. That was one of the attractions of this one... and less weight than the K40 I was considering.

Yep! Even without the shipping both ways, that's a nice chunk of change for this chump.

            Hey, a guy's gotta dream.

You made a very nice snag with this pistol. Congratulations!

            • Thanks, I'll be trying to CCW with it soon to see how well it stays hidden... with my large polos. I think it will be okay as long as I don't bend too far forward at the waist and let the shirt lay on the gun and holster IWB. That's why I want the metal flush-fitting base in the pistol for that. Every little bit less sticking out helps.

                • I requested care instructions from Looper for the belt.

The belt is about .22 inches thick... just under 1/4", for those who were wondering.

I want it to last and need the care instructions before I wear it. I don't want to miss doing anything to prolong its useful life... the most expensive belt I've ever bought!

                  • Blade-Tech Looper belt care.

Blade-Tech said to ask Looper about care for the Kydex-Reinforced Belt and I just heard back from them:

"The best thing you can do for your new belt is nothing at all! :-) Unless you're planning on it getting VERY wet (like going swimming in it), you shouldn't need to do anything. If you think that might be a problem, you can apply a very thin layer of neetsfoot oil to protect if from the water. Thanks so much,

Yeah, I know you told me so, JFootin. I'll have to get some neetsfoot oil... maybe.

I didn't know there was a Looper brand. I just thought that was the kinda strange name that Blade-Tech came up with for it.

                      • I cleaned my P40 last night and all of the .40 magazines, then loaded a few with Gold Dots. I'll probably leave the house tomorrow and I want to try the new belt and my MiniTuck with it. My 9mm mag holders can do double duty now, and I'll have to check to see what's in them now! The 9mm are long and narrow-looking, compared to the .40, so no problem there. Boomer is jealous, I'm sure, but I plan to carry the PM45 to visit my wife's folks and relatives this Christmas... trying to have another "family shoot", but somewhere proper... maybe a range, rather than an impromptu out back in the snow as we did in December 2009. I hope so! I want to "show and tell" my Kahr .45.

I ordered 2 more 6-round .40 mags from Ivanhoe and will put the metal bases on those for spares to carry in the gun.

                        • Well, I got dressed to take my wife's car to Costco to get some new tires... danged front-wheel drive cars are hard on the front tires, especially if you don't get them rotated and balanced often enough... paid for that tire service with installation, but my wife works and usually when she's off, she's running around shopping. This is the second time I've had to do that. They HAVE to put the best tires on the rear and that doesn't get them rotated when you have two different sets of tires. Now one is about 18 months old and the other's new.

Anyhow, I was going to wear my new Looper Kydex-reinforced gun belt, my MiniTuck, and my new-to-me P40. I put everything on and it just looked like the grip was printing too much, so I swapped it for the PM9 and swapped the reloads, too. I could have worn a more voluminous shirt, but it was easier to just swap guns.

The belt really feels supportive, but I need to adjust the Mintuck to give it more forward cant. I think that will help conceal the pistol grip better. The belt is really stiff and I didn't have to cut off the blood flow below my waist, as I usually do with a cheap dress belt. I feel like I have on one of those police belts with all of the leather pouches and gear festooning it. I've just wanted to use that word for a while.

I had my reload and my cell phone on the left side and my Minituck at about 4 o'clock... all felt secure. I could have used another half-notch tighter on the belt, but that would have been too tight, I think. Anyhow, I'm glad that I broke down and got a decent supportive belt. I just hope it holds up for a long time.

Oh, the two 6-round .40S&W mags came in from Ivanhoe Warehouse... USPS Priority Mail... very quick service and $60 for the two mags delivered.

I am still waiting on mine. I am contemplating drilling an in between hole or two if I feel like I need to for it to be the right tightness. With the Kydex reinforcement, I don't think it would cause it to tear or anything. Might have to use a Sharpie permanent marking pen to blacken the leather, and a Dremmel like tool to smooth it out.

                            • On a light colored belt like mine... the brown one... it would probably look better to add one between all of the originals... pretty "busy", though. I like neatness and symmetry.

I finally pitched my POS hole punch... it wouldn't go all of the way through and make neat holes. I could heat up an awl or icepick thingy with my torch.

                              • I was thinking of using a drill with the appropriate size drill bit. I know what you mean about symmetry. I would want to drill all 4 holes in between the 5 existing holes if I did any at all. And, yes, that would look a little busy. You know, the Gunner's Alley belt could be ordered with 7 holes 3/4" apart, but it costs $100 for a 1.5" belt with the reinforcement and shipping, and I would have to pay sales tax because they are in NC. Maybe I'll luck out and find an existing hole I can live with on the Looper.
