  • Is 2nd 6-rd mag for CM9 necessary?

I'm considering ordering a new CM9 and thought maybe I should get a 2nd 6- round magazine at the same time, but found out I can't do the gun and mag on the same shipment. The mag sells for $29 but the s & h is $15 for a 9 ounce article which seems a little stiff as that's more than what they add for shipping on the gun.

How many CM9 owners have found they really need and use the 2nd 6 rd mag? I guess more "need" than actually use as I'm sure it would be used at the range.

persnaly u should have a spare mag in case one mag goes down. A broken follower cna put u out of business for awhile. Bite the bullet and order it and be done with it.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Where are you ordering from that they won't send the mag with it?

Ivanhoe I've heard is a good source for a spare mag. It would for sure be right handy at the range. Many don't carry a spare mag daily but I think at least one spare is a good idea myself.

Cheaper Than Dirt. The web site won't let you put both on the same order so I e-mailed them asking about it. Quote "No accessories of any kind can be combined with a firearms order/shipment". And firearms MUST be ordered online. I kind of wanted to do it by phone since I'm not that comfortable with the Internet.

I know Bud's will take orders over the phone and I'm sure they would package a mag with it if they have one. Check their price and see if it's comparable.

If buying local I'll use a spare mag as bargaining tool. Ok I'll pay your price but you throw in an extra mag. Usually works. Way more mark up on "stuff" than guns.

Seems either the customer service rep is wrong or CTD has a stupid policy.

I'd go with Budsgunshop.com. I have ordered lots of stuff from them and never had any issues.

Ivanhoe Warehouse, if they have the mag... 1 or 10, just $5 shipping and QUICK. They use USPS Priority shipping. AND, I would get 2 spare mags. A gun without a magazine is next to useless and having one or two fail happens. I would ALWAYS want to have a spare magazine with me. Yours can break, fall out of your gun in a scuffle... all kinds of things, not to mention you might run out of ammo when you really need it, or not shoot when you had to because you were "saving" your ammo.

It's nice to have more than one, or even two magazines at the range. Use them all and practice reloading rapidly after emptying and ejecting the magazine. You would be surprised how easy that ISN'T... without practice. I wouldn't get the 7-round extended-grip mag, but in addition to another 6-rounder, I would get an 8-round extended grip for a reload, and for the range... two more shots. That 8-round extended grip is my most reliable magazine. I have at least 6 and use them for the range and a reload for CCW. Use the flush-fitting one for CCW... easier to conceal.

Out of the 6-rounders(KAHR 6-RD 9MM FOR COVERT, MK & PM STAINLESS $27.50), but do have the KAHR K920G 8-RD 9MM SS for $29.95.

I am pretty sure when I ordered mine from Buds, they said the same thing. Two seperate shippments. One to FFL, and if I got another mag, one to my house.
“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”

Certainly does seem strange, but I suppose Big Brother has some idea about combining accessories with the firearm.

Thanks for the 8-rd mag suggestion Wynn, guess I wasn't even aware there was such a thing for the CM9s. And $5 shipping from Ivanhoe certainly ain't bad either.

If you're carrying it as a spare, just get the 7 rounder... by that time it doesn't matter if it's concealable or not with the added length and ugliness.

The 7-rounder is the one everyone complains about. That's why I said get the 8-rounder... no problems with my 6 or so.
