Defensive rounds?...CM9

So I and thru the break in period.....YEA!!!...........and I now will start my quest for a Defensive round to run in my CM9.

I have shot WWB(Winchester White Box) thru my XD9 for years......Not sure how they will shoot thru the Kahr???.....

so this leads to 2 questions:

1. I hear a LOT of thrash talk against the WWB rounds....Why?......I have shot them for years....everytime a have pulled the trigger they go bang???

and

2. What are you Carrying?....What runs best in you Kahr?

i read this and took his (and a leo friends) advice. i run the 147gr winchester rangerT's or the 147gr winchester pdx's. i have never had an issue with them and they preformed best with some tests we did with different ammo. (the pdx is what the feds use)
"When we redesigned the Ranger T Series of ammunition we widened the velocity window under which the round would expand to allow for the slower velocities that shorter than standard barrels produce. What this means is that if you own a standard or sub compact pistol the round should have adequate expansion. In 9mm I would recommend the 147 grain bullet as it loses a lower velocity percentage than the faster lighter bullet in shorter than normal barrels. This is because the bullet has more dwell time in the bore and has a greater opportunity to burn the powder before the bullet exits the bore. Powder that is burned outside the bore does nothing for velocity. The lighter faster bullets generally have more powder to burn and since the lighter faster bullets have less time in the bore they are not efficient burners of powder in the shorter barrels.
We increased the velocity window under which the round would expand by increasing the size of the hollowpoint, tweaking the jacket thickness and the depth of the cuts on the inside of the jacket petal segments.

Defensive rounds?...CM9

For what it's worth, my CM9 works well with the Winchester Supreme Elite 9mm 124 gr (+P) PDX1 bonded JHP round and that is what I use for CCW.

Ballistics don't mean squat if a round doesn't chamber, that's why I go with what feeds and goes 'boom' every time in my guns - Winchester PDX1 Bonded.

Lots of good 9mm SD ammo you could wade through. What Thunder71 said about feeding and going boom every time is of primary importance. In a relatively light gun like the CM9 felt recoil/muzzle flip might guide you to one reliable ammo choice versus a another.

I’ve tried others and always come back to Gold Dots.
In the past 15 years they have consistently been on the top of any list I’ve seen.

In my 9 MM guns it's Speer Gold dot +P 124GR GDHP short barrel

I shoot Hornady Critical Defense 124 gr. in mine. I have also shot the Speer Gold Dot Short barrel effectively. The PDX1 124 +P were noticeably snappier and harder to double tap with.

My Wal-Mart is always out of ammo in 9mm, they don't keep it stocked very well.

my local shop has a 250 round box of Gold dots for $99. yeah they blemished from the factory but all they have are nicks on the brass.
