i appreciate your thoughts but im curious, what do you think they are going say? good or bad i can take it. do you think they will say there is nothing wrong with it and this is normal? i checked my other firearms and none have this curve in the rails.

i plan to shoot saturday im pretty sure its gonna shoot fine but just worried about future problems, and accuracy. i read the lube chart did that part no problem, i also read the prep guide and im racking the slide at moment dont think i need to, im pretty sure its past the break in anyway from the prior owner. just wanted to keep you guys updated, im not bashing this gun at all infact i like it alot, ill probably like it even more after some range time.

u have IMO already set ur self up for negative feedback. U checked other firearms???Were they kahrs???If not then please don't compare .

I in my little mind feel kahr is gonna tell u there is nothig wrong with it, I can't prove that either, but your phone call will tell u one way or the other.

My main concern is that you have not even shot the gun yet to know anything about it. I think u really need to do that before calling kahr. u bought a used gun to, so I would not volunteer that statement. There warranty covers the original owner. but that being said if there is a reliability issue, I have no doubt kahr will work with u,but expect to probably pay postage to send it back to.

I feel what ur seeing has zero effect on accuracy and reliablity but only rounds down range will show that. If u have never shot a kahr before also do not expect 2" groups at 10 yards either. they have a long trigger system that takes time to get used to. So if u have shots all ove r the place don't assume it is the issue ur referring to either. the barrel is not jumpigg around inside th slide. actually when the slide is fuly closed the barrel is locked up pretty damn tight.

go into this shot with a clear mind and not a negative mindset. U might just surprise yourself and it might just surprise u and u might then just say, well it is what it is and I am a happy camper. I am sure we will get some feedback, soon to.

Good luck whatever road u decide to go down to.

Personally I have never had the need to deal with Kahr CS, but what I would guess is they probably would not refuse to examine it if you shipped it to them on your dime. If they do find it defective, that would be up to them since you are not the original owner. The warranty is 5 years and applies to only the original retail purchaser.

plus they cannot fix that and a new lower frame would have to be sent and that would have to then go through a FFL dealer as it would have new serial numbers. I just in my little mind do not see kahr replacing that lower "just because" either. Just sayin.

I ain't kahr so take my comments like a grain of salt.

i wanted show these last pics they really show it better, and why i have a concern. if kahr says its ok then it has to be ok right?

good side nice and even with slide

left side is not even with the slide.

its actually more pronounce in person than the low grade iphone 4 pics show.

I have an old style and never noticed that.
I could snap pics but IMO it’ll be more beneficial if someone with the new style does instead.

I hav two old style and they dont look like that. The both do have the kahrd buldge in the front dust cove rthough but I think that is by design, to mayb ekeep hand and figers away from the4 slie whle it is doing its thing. Just sayin

                    Yeah, nothing like that.
I was checking mine out and snapped some pics just to see what it looks like on film.
I would definitely like to see a new style comparison pic like those in post #20.

I don't think you'll have any problems. IIRC the rails are a one piece of u shape steel that is inbedded in the dust cover. Here's our two PM9s and one has the tip of the dust cover bent down. They both bulge and have other deformities.
One has the barrel hood closer to one side the other has it to the other. My guide rod looks crooked until I reach in and straighten it. My rails aren't even.
                      Even Glocks have flaws.
I'd just shoot it and decide if you got a good deal based on price not looks.

update kahr responded with the following....

Good morning. Thank you for the question and all of the photographs. This
is perfectly normal. The frames on our weapons are molded with excess
polymer on the front rails which can make it look like they are bowed. This
is perfectly normal (my PM9 that I carry every day looks identical) and in
no way will this effect safety, functionality or longevity. I hope this
                        information helps.
                        ****************** sincerely,
                        ***************************************** Jay
but i have another little tidbit, using advice from another kahr forum member, i was told just to bend it back, being the 2 metal rails are actually 1 piece under the polymer frame. i was a little hesistant to do this, worried about cracking the polymer but i said what the hell its a gun! it should be able to handle a little flexing without cracking. so little by little i put pressure only on the left side of the frame that was the part that was not even with the slide, viola! pretty straight and even now, all i need to do now is get it out to range, i cant wait... ill post some pics later to show the difference before and after... thanks guys i was a little worried, i guess for nothing...

If FreeJersey said it functioned perfect after the first mag and Kahr said it's OK what made you bend the frame?
I agree it doesn’t look quite right but...I woulda shot it first at least.
What if it has issues now?

jgrider: nice photos I have a PM9 tha tI jsut bought a few days agoused ,vintage 2003, works perfect but I noticed it doe snot have the little cout out in the left front rail like my later model PM9 does and about everyone else as ur photos show. No big deal, just wondered when they went to anopther vendor as it is s vendor proof mark.

My O3 model upon checking was involved back then in the barrel recallby Kahr which all kahr did wen the received the barrel was repolish the feed ramp. the gun worked perfect anyway but I gave the barrel a good repoliishing just to settme my mind. I talked to kahr and ask if they felt I should send the barrel in and their reply was NO not if u polished the ramp as that was allthey would do.

the gun works perfect. Now I have to blunt nose PM9, LIFE IS GOOD

Hey FreeJersey - you sound like a stand up kind of guy. Kudos to you for that. I've been very fortunate on guns I've bought on Gunbroker and NEVER had one that I had any issues with including my P9 which I dearly LOVE.

Hang in there on that rail problem. Looks like if it's not problem now, it could work into one in future. Sure looks bent to me but like others have said, could be pics.

i have prior experience with freejersey before he is good guy for sure, i brought his fnp fnh 45 a month ago without any issues, so i had no real worries there, he is a very trust worthy individual. i bent it back because i couldnt stand how it looked, it wasnt right, believe me the pics i took actually under exagerated it, it looked worse in person. anyway after i bent it back, i racked the slide a good 50 times everything feels just fine, i dont believe i will have any issues, it actually now looks like jg riders kahr pics above, its symetrical now. after messing with my pm9 these past few days i realize this is a very well made, tough little gun... im liking her more and more... ill give a mini range report when when i get to put a couple of boxes through her...
