That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

jFootin, it's hot and humid here on the gulf coast. My normal mode of dress is cargo shorts or Levis relaxed fit jeans (no belt) and a loose fitting untucked T-shirt. The jeans are one size larger than what I would wear without the Smart Carry. This works well for me. When I have to "dress up" and tuck my shirt, I prefer pleted slacks such as Dockers, and my PM9 and Smart Carry. This also works for me.

It seems that most people like IWB or OWB at the 4:00 c'clock position. This doesn't work for me. Different body shapes I guess. My grandkids would probably tell you that I am a funny looking old guy. Such is life.

That's how I carry mine..in a DeSantis pocket holster. I was use to carrying a PF9 that way for about 6 yrs so no problem adapting to CM9. Use my CW9 for IWB carry.

Specific body structure does set it own requirements for concealed carry. I wear suspenders because my hip bone are set inward of normal. I can take a normal pair of pants with a normal snug belt and simply pull them right off. It has been a hassle all my lif as every time I stand up it's like I'm putting my pants on to get them where they belong.

Another thing is I have a very comfortable indent of bone directly behind my hip joints that my PM9 9in the Silent Thunder fits in very nicely. I literally do forget it's there much of the time.

I suspect it's this individualism that has so many folks with a box full of holsters, each of which were almost but not quite "the one". I wish it were practical to try out a gun and holster for a week before buying but that's pretty unreasonable. Ron Garrett had a return policy that is about as close as one can get but he has a living to make also so I don't if that still stands.

I walked around the LGS with a G30SF tucked into my waist to see if it will work for me for concealed carry. It felt so good I didn't even go to plan B which was to borrow my son's G22.

I have a pm9 and depending on the "whatevers" vary between pocket carry and iwb. I have a Mika holster for pocket carry and it works well. Doesn't fit the gun so tight that it prints as a gun, keeps the gun in place, and when I draw stays put. For iwb I use a Remora which also works well. Some people use for pocket carry as well but for me it's a little too big for that.

Just a few weeks ago I got a PJ Holster pocket holster for my CM9. It is very thin, conceals well, holds postition, and is comfortable. I am quite happy with it.

I have a Nemesis for my PM9 which I carry when doing chores around the house. I always know it's there feeling like a fat wallet in my pocket. If you want to try the notion, stick your wallet in the front pocket. If it's not fat tuck a hankie in it. Carry that for a day or so and you'll have a pretty good idea.

Thanks for all the advise, its greatly appreciated. I was wondering on opinions of comfort as in regard to height of carry( low ride vs high ride).

I think I have narrowed my search to eithor a highnoon holster, crossbreed micro or mini tuck, or PJ Holster. Thanks for all the help and feel free to way in on your opinions of those 3 holster companies.

I pocket carry with a Desantis Nemesis..."Fat wallet" is a good analogy, except for the weight. But honestly i use a Uncle Mike's Inside-The-Pants holster, size 12. For $10, it's worth every penny. I purchased a PJHolster IWB/tuckable, great for the price and I'm happy with it but it 'shows' a bit too much when i tuck a shirt. I'm a slim guy. My 2 cents
