    That would be me.

My wife used to be a bank manager and for the life of me I can't make her understand interest rates. She worries and wants to save money in a nothing savings account while the CC companies have relations with us with their high interest rates.

I told he it would be far better to pay as much as possible to get the balances down, then pay for our sins every month or do without.

I have to pay cash for gas, card is maxed out. I was never told they went revolving years ago, I thought we paid it every month.
I could get two Wilsons with my gas card debt.

Maybe I'm heading for a financial cliff?

      Ditto Jocko.

I just bought tickets for our vacation trip in March with CC points. A few years ago my ex and I flew round trip to Rome on points from paying our youngest daughters college expenses every semester with a credit card and then paying it off at the end of the month.

I used to use the card and pay every month but then came marriage and children so that put an end to pay every month as is brutally evident on my outstanding credit card and gas card outstanding balance.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use a debit card which is a wonderful invention, takes me back to my days of saving up to buy what I want, that was long long ago in a far away place it seems.

Can't even imagine paying cash for a car, never owned a new one, did have one that was less than 10 years old once, close enough?

To meander back on track, some folks just won't pay more than a certain amount regardless, probably why they have bank accounts and money.
Take a rifle scope for example, a good Leupold has a life time warranty but just ain't now way I'm gonna shell out 500 or a 1000 bucks for a really good probably worthwhile scope.

The safari guides always know American hunters, 3000 dollar rifle with a 50 dollar scope.

I'm like that with most things except guns of course. I'm a sucker for guns.
Good glass on a rifle makes a big difference. It's painful to spend as much or maybe even more for the scope as you paid for the rifle but with scopes, you generally do get what you pay for.

I buy almost everything with a credit card, but I also pay it off in full every month. It's a convenience thing. And I only use cards that offer rewards. For example, I've accumulated $1800 in Subaru bucks that can be used for maintenance, repairs, parts or used towards a new Subaru.

I have a GM card that does the same thing but you have ti watch them because credits start dropping of after a couple years and you loose them if you don't use them.
