  • Does anyone else think your CM9/PM9 slide looks... tilted?

I know this sounds strange. It has to be an optical illusion or my 40 year old eyes or something...

I can't find any defect or ill fitting parts or any issues at all with my CM9. I shot it today for the first time and fired over 200 rounds without a single issue... BUT

Sometimes when I aim and look down the sights... it almost seems as if the slide is tilted slightly to the left. I don't know if it is the way the back of the slide is cut or what.. but it just seems tilted slightly.

Has anyone else felt this way or am I just a little "tilted" myself?

even it out, tilt ur head to the right and all is well.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

My CM9 is good but the wife says my head is lopsided, or is that she is going to slap my head lopsided, I just cant remember.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Are you wearing progressive focus lenses? Great as they are for older eyes, they introduce the appearance of out of level horizontal objects. I have to take mine off to judge if something is properly plumb. YMMV
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

Does it appear tilted all the time, or just when you apply some pressure to the trigger? Try dry firing and watch for movement on the slide.

I don't wear corrective lenses of any kind... Maybe I should!

I don't know if it is the contrast of black and stainless or the jagged appearance of where the frame and slide mate up... maybe the plate of the back of the slide?

This is silly. LOL. I asked a friend and family member and they think I've gone crazy or need my eyes/head checked!

Anyway - here is a pic from behind the gun. What do you guys think?

Looks to me like an optical illusion. The gaps of the back plate are larger on the right and this is very typical on Kahrs, especially poly guns. I think it has to do with the way the notches in the poly frames are finished out. The important thing is that the slide rails grab the frame rails correctly. Nothing else really matters. You think way too much like I do!

Force yourself to forget about it for a week, and you will have a whole new perspective.

I agree with you. And I think the contrast between the stainless slide and the black frame contributes to the "problem". As you say, the gun is flawless. I just think too much!

Just wait until you discover the "chip" in the front rail where the dust cover is!

The notch is supposed to be there as well as the bulge at the front of the frame!

Bret, focus on the front sight and shoot it like you stole it. I think that what you are seeing is an optical illusion. You could check the gun with a square to be sure.
