Does anyone else think your CM9/PM9 slide looks... tilted?

I'd say it's just an illusion caused by the normal but unequal levels of the bottom part of the back of the slide.

It's "looks" off... but it's not. If I just cover up the bottom half of the slide with my hand, it breaks up the illusion and it appears totally square. Try it.

Tried it. You are correct. Definitely an illusion.

I feel silly about having a 2 page thread over this..LOL. Thanks for entertaining my obsessive ramblings ya'll.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
        --Thomas Jefferson (1764).

I came across this many times in my training and range officer experience, while working at two local ranges.

          The issue is easily fixed!

Get a Dr. Scholl's insole, and put it in your left shoe. Thats it!

That little bit of extra elevation on the left side will even things out nicely.

            What about this???

Back plate looks a bit crooked. Kahr CS said this is normal.
            400 flawless rounds so far.

A wise man once said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

However, if you tear down the slide for any other reason, clean up the edges of the back plate before you reassemble. On my PM40 the plate fits so tightly it was nearly impossible to remove the first time. I swear it had been assembled with a rubber hammer, and not a small one either.

Given that it's only purpose is to hold the striker spring and extractor parts in place and it is doing that and you have no scraping of the plastic frame . . . I agree with Kahr CS. If the appearance annoys you, see above.

Just my two cents. I am a 1911 enthusiast and this would not do in that environment, but . . . this is NOT a 1911, so it is acceptable.
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

It bothered me until CS said it was normal. And like you said, "If it ain't broke...."
I did take the back plate off to see if it was put in wrong, but that's just the way it fits. Cleaned out the striker channel while I was in there. Also, that little gap made it easier to get the back plate off. No complaints. Shoots like a dream. Thanks for the reply.

                  it IS normal

the plates have "some slop" or you'd not be able to get 'em out

the little bit of tilt creates an optical delusion....

Everything looks normal...are you hitting what you're aiming at? If so I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm late on this one but the ops rear plate is just the opposite of Tucsons. Also if you look at the top rear of the slide bevel, it's slight more beveled on the left side than the right.

Not gonna hurt a thing. Forget about it.
