Unless you're into drive by shootings, a standard 6 round mag with a six or seven round mag for back-up should be more than enough. If you can't hit 'em with 13 rounds throw the gun at 'em and run like hell.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Hope this bumps my thread back up and someone else has feedback on their usage of 10 round promags.Originally posted by PNine64 View PostAre you thinking of PMAGs by Magpul? I was hoping you didnt think those two were one and the same when I read the original post, but then it came up again. You're right PMags by Magpul are pretty much the standard for AR's, Promag is a roll of the dice basically. You may get one that functions flawlessly (I've only heard of very few cases) and you may get one that nosedives every round. I have a Promag for my 9mm carbine that would nose dive like crazy when new and I finally got it to feed right, but only after much work in tuning the feed lips. If it came down to it, I suppose I'd buy again if the price was right, but only because I know there will be a little work involved and how to do it.Originally posted by PNine64 View PostAre you thinking of PMAGs by Magpul? I sold them all in fear that they might grow legs and murder me and my family since they've been portrayed as such evil objects by our current administration

That sounds like a NY mindset, hitting them (even 6 or 7 times) doesn't always stop the threat. That's why I carry a 2nd mag.Originally posted by muggsy View PostUnless you're into drive by shootings, a standard 6 round mag with a six or seven round mag for back-up should be more than enough. I really wish Kahr would develop a high capacity single stack mag. They are important as back up mags. It's still something other double stacks, namely the Glock 26 have over the PM/CM9. Having a solid 9 or 10 round back up mag in the pocket would go a long way to leveling the playing field and giving security to those who like Kahrs but feel uncomfortable with 6 round mags

I think some of those Boston/NY cops needed some of the glock 33 round mags. Just sayin. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I'm still holding out for the 50 round drum magazine. If ten round are good fifty rounds are five times better. Do the math. It ain't rocket science.

I've tried the Promag 10 rounder in my CM9, and the thing is totally unreliable. Every 2nd or 3rd shot is a misfeed. Comparing mag lips, they look fine, so I think the problem lies in the spring. I am going to try a stronger spring and if it reduces the capacity by 1 round so be it, if it improves function. I'll post back after I've tried it. Having said that, I'll repeat, Promag sucks.
