I just got off the phone with a customer service rep at Kahr.
I asked him if the follower issue had been resolved and if I could be confident that if I were to buy a recently built gun, there would be no broken followers.
He explained that the followers are breaking due to “over buffering” the gun when it is held.
I’ve been shooting a long time and the term “over buffer” is a new one to me.
In fact, I couldn’t find it when doing a Google search.
So there ya go folks.
It’s not the gun's fault.
If you don’t want to break your followers, just make sure you don’t “over buff” the gun when you shoot it.
On the bright side, if you do “over-buff” when you shoot, and you continue to break followers, they will modify the gun to prevent that from happening.
If you’re as confused as I am regarding “over buffering” just give Kahr’s customer service a call.
