I bought a new CM9 last week. I took it out to range yesterday. The feed ramp of the barrel broke the front of the mag follower at about round 25. Other than that the gun ran great for 70 rounds. I could even slingshot the slide to load. So how will kahr handle this. Will they just send replacement followers as a band aid fix or will they correct the problem. Thanks, Mark.

Good afternoon.
On this occasion we will be able to send out a new follower. Should any further followers break we would need to see the firearm return to the factory.
Have a good day from Kahr.

Still waiting to receive anything from them.... Wish you better luck!

If they call for the gun request a prepaid mailing label. It's a know problem and they shouldn't balk at the request. If they do balk, ship it back through your local FFL to save money on shipping. Your FFL gets a better rate.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

Just kindly request that they send you a shipping label to return it for a proper repair. It will continue to break followers, why postpone the inevitable.

normally kahr will insist tht at least two followers break before returing it. Not just one.
I can tellyou from experience that in my pMJ9 I broke one follower about 3 years ago and didn't really \know it was broken until I took the mag apart one day to clean it and out fell the broken peaces. anyway I had anutter follower in my parts box and installed it and have never broekn anutter fllower. I have over 32K+ rounds thorugh my PMJ9. For some strange reason it fgixed itself.
Many here will do their own feed ramp od, IMO I would suggest that if this is needed then bite the bullet d let kahr do it, that way it is covered underwarranty down the road also. It is never good when it happens to you but again ,,, it is what it is. It is not an epedemic as some think but it is a real PITIA when it happes to you.
It wold be interesting is some inergetic soul would try to mod the follower front like the photos shwon on this forum of kahrs earlier metal followers. This could solve that broken follower thing to, as that is where the feed ramp is slamming into the follower. Worth a try.. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Yesterday I put the barrel on the frame with slidestop installed. I slid a 2" long strip of notebook paper between the feed ramp and the mag follower. With the barrel to the rear I can make the feed ramp press against the follower so you can't pull the strip of paper out. That seems too close. I called kahr this morning and spoke with a guy with an english accent. I told him about the broken follower after 25 rounds. He said they would send a follower out. If it broke again they would need to see the gun. He didn't seem to be in a very good mood so I left it at that. Will see what happens.

What's with this English accent guy? I keep hearing more and more that he is in a bad mood or has a bad attitude. Sounds like he should be in another department than customer service. He doesn't represent Kahr very well IMHO. He wouldn't make it very long working for me.Women call it "the silent treatment", and they think we don't like it.

I believe that's Ian.
I've spoken to him twice and he was more than pleasant both times. If a sign could stop evil….They’d make holsters for them!!

I would not want a job in customer service in any firearm company. I imagine it's kind of a broken record having virtually the same conversation over and over all day long. Many times with customers who are already far beyond ticked off weather it's the companies fault of not.
Imagine even the best of days turn to crap by the end of the day.
I think I'd be good at it at least for a while since I kind of like to help folks but I suspect I'd burn out quickly.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

I have spoken to Ian 4 or 5 times always seemed nice enough just very business oriented but he has always followed thru with what he promised and if he didn't have an answer to my question he would find out and get back to me usually within a day.

Soooooo.......Originally posted by railroader View PostGot my new follower in the mail yesterday so the wait wasn't long. I also shot another 150 rounds through the gun on sunday with a different mag. The follower in that mag got a little marked up in the front but no breakage. I will say this the gun runs great. It eats everything.
Did you remove some material from the follower where the mark is??
I apologize if my post contains the same or similar information as someone who has posted before me.

Pretty sure the "English" guy is Eoin. I dealt with him a few times in the past. He was always polite and professional in e-mail and phone contact. Which is more than I can say for the two different representatives I contacted this week regarding a broken follower.Originally posted by Baklash View PostWhat's with this English accent guy? Not to defend, but I echo Bawanna's comment. I'm sure it can get monotonous.
