I'm one of the few that had issues with the 7 round mag that cane with my PM9. Kahr was nice enough to allow an exchange for a six rounder.

My preference in carry guns is for a short grip which means a two finger hold grip pinky under. A finger extension works nicely on my P3AT because without on the grip allows for only a finger and a half grip. PM9 and Glock 26 are perfect 2 finger grip pistols so no extensions of any kind.

Yes, they're the Pearce extensions. My hands aren't huge, but the Kahrs are so small, I need a little help getting a good grip. I carry fairly hot loads, so I need all the help I can get. I normally carry IWB in a Silent Thunder. But I also pocket carry, depending on what I'm wearing. I don't find the extensions make a huge difference in concealability since the pistols are so tiny.

I just sent a cracked 6rd mag bk to Kahr and pick'd up a 7rd (stupid me!). I did have feed issues for rounds 1 & 2. Now tho not so much with pow'r ball. Still the 7 Rd mag defeats purpose of gun. But!! I have noticed bow much stronger 7rd mag spring is. Way too strong n' hard to load! Now I've got a solution.

B4 I sent the 6rounder bk swapped the 7rd spring for the 6 and wow! What a nice difference. It made the 7rd mag so easy to load and there were NO feed issues at all! So, now I wonder why they use such a ridiculously long mag spring for the 7rd nag when it seems that the 6 Rd spring is perfect? And it seemed to load with less feed issues.
Oh, and the 6rd mag that's broke had NO feed probs-none! I could sling shot load the gun (CM9) w/ no probs. I culd also do a slow feed sling shot. Why a mag change stopped that until I changed to pow'r ball ammo? I dunno! My guess is thy Kahr thinks they need super strong mag springs for whatever reason and I do t think their necessary. But what do I know?

I also am pro-pinky extension. My MK9 shoots better for me with it. (I've had it for 5yrs, 4K rounds) I pocket carry all the time without issues. Still conceals better than any gun I've carried in 30 years.

As too 7rd mags. Range only for me. I had them Fail to Feed in a pistol class. Under stress, I gripped the gun so hard my bottom two fingers would pull the mag out of alignment. Thank God I figured this out before my life depended on it.

The 6rd mags with pinky extension have always run perfectly. I have three of them for the MK9. I use the 7rd mags in my K9 with no issues all the time. 8rd mags are so ugly I only use them at the range. Guess I need a T9 also!

I'm antsy about collecting my P40(?ninekahrs? magna-ported one) this afternoon., and one of the first things I want to do is make sure I have at least one magazine equipped with the metal base so it's easier to CCW. The 9mm bases are interchangeable and I'm sure I have an extra one of those.

If you ever want to buy the metal ones at Kahr, it's a pain to find... they've really overcomplicated that site... but the set... base plate AND the lock plate can be found for $15 or so... cheaper than $8.80 per piece. That site drives me nuts, because I know what they have, but I can't find anything anymore!

Woohoo! My four .40 mags from Ivanhoe just arrived... K720G's new in the Kahr packages at $24.95 each and $5 shipping! USPS priority, even. Now if I can just connect with my "new" gun soon. These are for reloads and range use.

              Kudos to Ivanhoe.

Order placed late on 30th (online, after hours at night), arrived 3rd. So they got the order Thursday, I got it Saturday. Thats not bad! And, all as advertised, in Kahr retail packaging.

I also had a very good experience with Ivanhoe. Everything as promised at a good price and very reasonable shipping.

                Regards,

                Chuck

Wouldn't you know it... my FFL dealer took off or off early Saturday, so I probably won't see my P40 until Late Tuesday or Wednesday, if FedEx doesn't try to deliver it Tuesday.<<sigh>>

I did play with my K720G .40S&W mags. I took one apart and the spring is over twice the length of the tube... and was backwards... free end to the rear. I checked all four and they were the same.

I compared them to my Kahr 9mm mags and they even fit the K9... just a tiny bit tighter... not free falling, but seem to function. All of the bases are interchangeable between the 9mm and the .40S&W, so I can use the metal base/locks for the P40. There's about 1/8th inch protrusion, but that's less than the "flush-fitting" polymer bases and should aid in concealability.

I was going to order a metal base kit from Kahr, but I don't need to. I have 3 of the 6-shot 9mm and only use one in the PM9 for CCW. My spares/reloads are extended grip capacity 7 or 8 rounds.
