  • New to forum... 1st Kahr CM9

Hello all...After having put 50 rds through a buddies CM9, I had to get me one...I like the Glock like feel in my hand...I purchased an LC9 a few months ago and put 400rds through it with no problems, but I didn't like the fit/feel and absolutely hated the looooong trigger pull and wasn't really fond of the hammer fire, manual safety, and the lack of ability of shooting without the mag... So I sold it a few days ago and picked up my first Kahr brought it home, field stripped it and cleaned it...Went to the range today ate up 100 rds and had only 2 no feeds on the second rnd of the first 2 mags, after that it fed flawlessly...I absolutely love the feel of the trigger and am amazed at the accuracy... Tomorrow I'll put another 100 rds through it.

Welcome. I have the CM9 also. Mine has ran really well so far.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I'm new here too. The CM9 is a fantastic little gun ... I cant believe how well I am shooting with it. Have run three brands of FMJ through it some Hornady hollow points as well. Now have three mags, no nosedives ... ever ... and only two slides locked back on 3rd or 4th round. That's it ,,, not quite yet as bulletproof as my Sig P226 or my HK P2000SK, but getting closer.

check ur thumb on the slide locking back thing. more than likely that is the issue.not sure what ammo is is doing it with either or how many rounds you have through thegun but have you read the kahr tech section, the sticky called propper prepping of ur new kahr. It will tell you some things to check out, takes 5minutes and u will learn alot also by reviewing it. There are only a few things that can cause slides to lock back, and that stickjly addresses each one. My bet it is ur thumb position.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

argh. my cm9 came in on tuesday. i was going to shoot it friday, but we got too busy at work and i'm not back till monday night (i refuse to pay at a private range when i have a free range at work and free ammo, and i also refuse to drive in to work on my day off, even if it is to shoot, yeah yeah, i'm lazy, i'd rather spend time with the family), but between last tuesday and friday, i cleaned the gun and racked the slide 500+ times. i had dummy rounds at home, so i tried running a few through and had nose dive issues. checked both mags and reversed the springs, no more nosedive issues.
faxed in my form for the free mag from Kahr. Planning on shooting 200 rds of fmj on monday, then 100 rds of jhp, and if all goes well, sending the slide and barrel off to get refinished. really thinking about getting a black finish on it, but will probably get an electroless nickel/teflon coating like the rest of my guns.
glad to see more people are having good luck with new guns from kahr.

oh, i know i have to get a new front sight since the original will get destroyed during refinishing. i'll pick up the trijicon front sight from kahr's website.

Back from the range...went through 100rds of Magtech 124gr in a half hour... I'm going to put another 100rds through it tomorrow after a good cleaning and lube tonight... then it becomes my primary

Went to the range again this evening went through 100rds with a new mag...have the same issue with a nosedive on the second and third rd...It doesnt seem like the mag release is catching the follower, but it may be. Anyone have any other suggestions

Try different ammo. My PM9 really likes plain jane WWB 115 stuff.... never a bobble. Likewise, the PM45 seems to prefer, if anything, shorter rounds than longer.

have you already broken down your magazines to make sure they are assembled correctly? is the FTF only happening on the 2nd and 3rd rounds?
