  • Free mag offer with CM9

Just wanted to report that I sent in my free mag form when I bought
the CM9 on Sep 16th via email. Got an immediate confirmation response
via email telling me it would be processed right away and despite
the "Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery" mine arrived in less than 3 weeks.

Like the 6 rd mag that came with the gun neither of the mags was drop
free so I pushed the follower down and held it in place with a punch
and used a pair of channel locks and squeezed the lips in the middle where
it was rubbing. Walla, two drop free mags for my CM9

Also, I hear a lot of folks having issues with the 7 rd mags but both
this new one I got and my old one that came with my PM9 have been
perfect. Never had any problems with them. Not sure what I'm doing
    wrong.....heh.

Lastly, as some of you who have been following my CM9 purchase may
recall, this gun was intended for my wife to carry as an alternative to her
Ruger LC9. After putting about 400rds through it to totally satisfy
myself that it was reliable, I finally got out to the range with her
to let her have a go with it.

    Here's the results......

She wound up making pretty much one ragged hole at 7 yards
with about 40 rounds. That woman scares me sometimes..........

Suffice to say she loves the gun and especially loves the Crimson Trace
laser. It's hard for her to see the sights without her reading glasses
and the laser is turning out to be an excellent solution.

My biggest concern was her ability to work the slide but we came up with
a pretty good drill when she loads a mag to try to slingshot first and if it
doesn't drop immediately smack the bottom of the mag which will always
drop the slide. She was able to successfully slingshot most of the time
but the few times it didn't drop she was able to fall back to the backup
    drill.

So the irony is that after all this commotion with the CM9, she shot
her Ruger LC9 today also and shot it just as well as the Kahr, heh....so
    we'll probably keep both guns.

I already have the PM9, it's been my EDC 90% of the time for the past
      2 years. Absolutely love it.

I bought my CM9 about a week and a half before the free mag promo started but went ahead and sent in the coupon anyway. I have no idea if they will honor it, but we'll see. All it cost me was a stamp. Based on the reports I get on the 7 rd mags I am not sure if I would even use it anyway!

I'd test it first before writing it off. As I said both of mine seem to
work fine. Have not had any of the nose dive issues with it.

Hey, where in Central Fl are you? Didn't realize we were neighbors.

Shot it Saturday and got my first nose dive. Over 300 through the original mag with no problems, and the new one dives during the first 7. :32:

                Range magazine, I guess.

I read that the 7 rd mags seem to have more problems than the 6 rd. The 7 rd is not as nice for carry. Apparently you can mail a 7 rd back to Kahr and they will exchange it for a 6. Anyone know if you can just request a 6 rd as your free mag with this deal?

Same here. The magazine arrived dripping in oil. I cleaned it and reinstalled everything correctly. I was shooting WWB FMJ and it nose-dived on the third round of the first magazine-full. I put in WWB Personal Defense and had the same problem happen again. Disappointing! I've not had any problems with my 6-round magazines. I can't trust it for personal defense. I guess I'll have to resort to my 6-rounders.

I don't like the 7 round magfazines but bering u mentioned the 3rd round, go to the kahr tech secrtion and and hit on propper prepping of ur new kahr and scroll on down until u see a thing on magazine fix. U might have a follower grabbing that magazine release button around round 2-3. this is easily fixable and easily diagnosed to. I would be that is where the issue is at. Personally one buys a cm9 or PM98 for concealability , so why would one want a longer magazine. buy a cw9 if one wants a longer mag that doesnt look butt ass ugly like the extended mags do.

also try this to if the follower is not grabbging that magtazine release. put ur 6 round mag spring in the 7 round magazine and test it out. some have shortened the 7 round mag spring on coil with good results. no sense in doing that though if the 6 round mag spring won't do the job. again ur not harming anything, just trouble shooting the possable issues..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I don't think Kahr is doing themselves any favors giving away those extended mags because they cause so many problems. But, according to them, there is absolutely no credibility to stories of problems with those mags, and sanding the follower or any of the other fixes are nonsense! Can anyone say "denial" or "spin"?
                          Very interesting...

Although I bought my CM9 3 days too early, I received a 7 rnd magazine from Kahr a few days ago, dripping in oil, cleaned it and went to the range yesterday. Fired six full magazines with no issues.

But, my finger pinches between the base plate and the pistol frame. Ouch!

I can use the follower and base plate from this 7 rounder for experimentation.

Now have over 1300 rounds of NO ISSUES with this pistol.

I do throughly clean and relube after each range session and slam the magazine down to insure that all rounds are at the rear after loading with my Uplula.

I have improved my shooting it to being able to shoot many magazines and keep the shots within eight inches at fifty feet.

                            Like this pistol!!!!
