I had 2 Kahrs, and wanted to branch out into another brand, so I tried the LC9, and it's been great. I don't see the point in having too many of one make of gun, Maybe Colt or S&W for collection value.
One I wish I could give back is that Diamondback DB9, I can't shoot it for crap, and other shooters put mag after mag downrange with no problems. I think my hands are too small and arthritic, and the handle flexes too much for me and it jams up. On the DB board one guy even said to watch the flexing at the elbows as that may cause it not to function, so now we have limp elbowing??? Geezus, can a person move at all when they shoot that gun? Oh well, it's on Armslist, with a blurb that you need big strong non-arthritic hands to shoot it properly. I may have to take a loss on that one, oh well, done pretty good on some others.

I think the LC9 is 7+1 rounds and the CM9/PM9 is 6+1 rounds?? Also, LC9 includes a pinky extension for the mag. I own both a PM9 and a LC9, both are excellant guns. Also, they both fit my pocketholsters.com front pocket holster.

u own two nice pocket guns, now give me some personal opinions from each, pros and cons. forget about beingon a kahr forum, u always shoot straight so "shoot straight". I have never shot the lc9, not heard any bad things about it. Most pocket 9j's are waht they are mostly pocketable but every gun as u know has its own quirks. Kahrs are no different. some hate the long triggers in kahrs, that is a quirk for some..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

If some one tried to steer me toward a gun, I'd have kicked them in the pills. I go to a gun shop, and I know what I want. I may go to do some research, and may check out the competition, but generally don't steer me toward anything. I've actually walked out of places that have tried to steer me or my wife before and not come back. I love Rugers, I love Kahrs, but I also know what I want. I'm waiting for an LC40 personally. Of course I have a couple of Rugers on the wish list right now, but I'm going to do the long gun thing first (need an AR, and AK, some other semi rifles would be nice too).
Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

The olive branch is considered a symbol of peace, and good will. Last time I checked, it's still a switch.

I was at the pistol range last July and the guy next to me was shooting his new Ruger LC9 for the first time. He was having quite a bit of difficulty understanding the mechanism and handling it properly. After noticing that I was watching him he asked me if I could give him some help. We went through safe handling, loading, grip, etc. and I stood back to watch.

The long trigger pull was amazing and he pulled up short of firing thinking that something was wrong with his gun but I assured him that the LC9 was made that way. He finally shot a few round down range but the target was a virgin after three magazines.

He asked me to fire the gun to see what luck I could have and I shot it 3 times. I didn’t like the long trigger pull but all of my shots hit the target a bit left of center in a nice group.

With Wisconsin joining the concealed carry states I had been wanting to get a small concealable handgun in 9mm. I sat back and thought about thumb safety, magazine disconnect, long trigger on the Ruger LC9 and made a decision at that time to purchase a Kahr CM9 that I was contemplating.

I like a gun that is simple to operate and goes bang when you pull the trigger without all of the other “safety” mechanisms. I had my new CM9 within about a week and haven’t looked back since.

By the way, The last time I ran into the guy with the LC9 he indicated he traded it in on a Glock 17.

Boy, to go from a pocket LC9 to a Glock 17 is quite a jump. I guess he was done with the pocket carry thing..Mike

Gun shop tried to steer me to LC9

That is quite a jump and I just shook my head when he told me that as the size and safety mechanisms are on the opposite ends of the 9mm scale.
He was shooting it better than the LC9...at least I saw some holes in his paper this time.

I have 7 Ruger firearms (3 handguns and 4 long guns) so I like Ruger for their reliability and ruggedness. For concealed carry in a single stack 9mm, the Kahr CM9 (or PM9) can't be beat in my opinion.

The trigger and all the lawyer crap the LC9 has on it made it a no go for me. I had a gun store employee try to sell me on the LC9. I commented on the unnecessary lock/safeties, and he said they were all important features on the gun. I commented that the LCP is a similar gun, similar trigger etc., and Ruger didn't see fit to put any of the lawyer crap on it. He didn't have an answer for that.

I agree, totally. I have a several Ruger's, myself, and have no problem with them at all. But, The LC9 does not compare to a PM9 or CM9. Now the guy jumped from a LC9 to a Glock 17. That is not a jump. That is one huge leap...As a matter of fact, I am looking into buying my first Glock, soon. Just not sure what I want..Stay tuned...Mike

I don't have a Glock yet either but have been thinking about getting one and have handled a few at the gun shop.

In 9mm, the 19 and 26 are looking pretty sweet...

A 34 with ported barrel would be a sweet range gun.
                        Very interesting...

If you are thinking Gen 4 Glock, go over to the glocktalk forum. There seems to be some issues with some models, G17 G19. Also some issues with recent Gen 3's as well. Seems to be extraction probs. Just a FYI.

I actually joined up over there. Seems the new Gen. 4's all have the new extractor, so the problems should be over. I am leaning towards a G19 or G23 in the compact, and the G26 or G27 in the sub-compact. Having the PM9, I really don't know if I want/need to go sub. I believe it will be a 19 or 23..Mike

What I've read, they are taking the new extractors and sanding, flitzing, polishing them to get them to work. Sound familiar, Kahr owners? LOL

I have a Glock 19, gen 3. I put on night sights, replaced the plastic guide rod with a captured stainless from BT Guiderods, replaced the trigger connector with a Ghost Ranger. However, the only necessity is to replace the stock plastic sights with metal ones. I must say the Glock 19 is the most favorite gun I have ever had. If forced to pick one handgun, the G19 would be my choice. It will bring me to hell and back!!!
