I have seen some women out at our club range that damn near close their eys when they squeeze that trigger even. It takes time and patience on the males part to get a woman who has never been around guns to want to shoot andeventualy carry.
Yeah, lots of time. She used to deer hunt with her dad, she's good with a gun - we've been to the range and she shoots well, just has 0 interest in owning, carrying or going to the range. Once a year we'll go (it's what I have the family do on Father's Day), other than that it's me or me and the kids, she won't go.

So whats wrong with closing your eyes? Maybe what your shooting is very ugly. And stop buttering up my girl Melissa. Gosh darn it!

My theory is you take them somewhere where they can hold and then shoot several. My wife chose a Glock 23. She doesn't carry as often as I would like, but when she does, she carries a weapon with which she has confidence.

A year or so ago, I decided to get Vickie a carry gun. When we determined she couldn't consistently rack the slide on my LCP or any other 380 we tried, I ended up getting her a KT P32.

I wish I could get the wife to get her CC permit. She's not interested for some reason but she does shoot with us at times. The thing that bothers me is in my opinion she could be a target. she is aware of her surroundings though. Funny thing is she does want an escort when she goes some places so guess who ends up going............

I think she would defend the home though. If she didn't my daughter knows the drill and I think she could.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

My wife carried a SW 638. Just couldn't handle the recoil and therefore, did not want to practice. In the end, she decided that it was too heavy in her purse. I went out on a limb and bought her a Keltec P32. She loves it; she shoots it; she carries it; 'nough said.

My SO did her own research and decided that she wants a Sig P238 as her CCW. She is fairly petite at 5'5" or so and 110 lbs and felt that the P238 would be something that she could carry on her body rather than in a purse.

She was originally considering both a Glock 26 and a Beretta Storm sub-compact but decided they were both just too thick for her to conceal on her small frame.

                      Go forth and rack........dude.

The P238 is the gun Rita is leaning toward. She's held it, racked the slide, and will shoot one later today. She loves the way it feels.

My wife doesn't carry. She claims that she doesn't need a gun. She does carry a rather large rock in her purse. At 6'5" and 280#, I'm not going to argue with her.

Mine carries a Kahr CW45, and even stops in here from time to time. Best advice I can give you is to let HER pick it out.

Actually, she shot the P40, and my P45 at the same time, and in order to keep my P45 I had to get her the CW45. I have a rule in my house, no 9mm or 380, or anything that ends in special. I figure why have the little stuff when I can have the magnum versions and still shoot the special. As for the auto side, well, no 9mm or smaller, not including .357 magnum, 7.62x25 Tokarev, and .22. The Tok can be a defensive piece with the little hollow points that I have, but the 22 is a fun gun and serves well as a snake charmer.
