If push/push is still difficult, you can always do some isometric arm exercises to build up strength. Use the same push/push motion, with your hands joined where the pistol would be if trying to rack the slide.
I really had a bugger of a time with my LCP when I first got it until I learned the push/push method. As the recoil springs start to take a set, the slide will get easier to pull back.
