  • Does anyone use a Boresnake on your Kahr's?

I'm not sure if this is the right area to post, but I was wondering if anyone uses the Boresnake on their Kahr's? I've heard about people running it through their guns at the range when their running a lot of rounds through their guns. I know it won't replace the detailed cleaning after I get home, but the idea did intrigue the OCD part of me.

that is all I use, from 22" on up to my 9mm. works super. If u insert fromt he bottom opf the mag well u will also be cleaning the feed ramp. Great for range use or just to get allthat crap out of there in causeu don't have time to doa good cleaning an d lube on it. Thrown um in the washer when really dirty etc, Best invention I have seen in years.. I use one allthe time on my SS 12 guage Iver Johnson Skeeter.

Needless to say I love it.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Thanks Jocko...Dang, if you give it kudos I'm for sure gonna look into getting one...So are there different version? I see some with a feathery part and others without. I also see them sold on Amazon for a very good price, but I'm cautious about them there. Any thoughts?

+1. I thought I had lost mine, so I bought another one and then found the old one. Don't think I'll probably ever use the new one.

I bought a boresnake (not a Hoppe's) for my CM9. When I tried it, the stiff brass brush embedded in the middle of it stuck tight in the barrel just beyond the chamber! I haven't tried to use it since.
              Very interesting...

Spend a bit more and purchase the Boresnake Viper, especially in 45. The standard Boresnake for 45 is a bit small in diameter. I use mine dry for a quick clean at the range.

I use boresnakes quite a bit. Need to wash a couple of em in fact. And I need to run one thru a couple of 22s soon.

I was trained in the military that metal brushes and solvents kill bores and we were forbidden to use them. We cleaned our bores using oil and elbow grease only.
The sniper rifles were cleaned with a boresnake like device that had no bristles, but was mildly abrasive....slightly gritty rope. It was forbidden to use a cleaning rod to avoid risking damage to the rifling.
I clean my guns with HOT water and grease cutting liquid dishsoap. Madge says, "Clean guns AND soft hands!"
