Does anyone use a Boresnake on your Kahr's?

wow, not sure I heard of that before. question, how many killed bores have u seen with todays cleaning solvent and todays bore brushs. ??Just sayin.

we have the same kind, could it be u got the wrong size (caliber) as mine when it hits that brass brush area on the snake gets harder to pull through. Hell who knows, u might even be a p-ssy with tiney weinnie hands. This is a mans bore snake JFootin. If u send me ur address I will send u a snake u will love!!!!

Jocko, I got the right caliber brush. I ain't no p-ssy, but I do have very small, crippled and half paralyzed hands. But I'll tell you what: that thing was STUCK in there! I would challenge any strongman to have budged it without using tools. I had to stick a screwdriver in there and pound it with a hammer to get it unstuck. (I was carefull not to mar the rifling.)

I am thinking of either taking the brush out of the snake or trying to trim it down with some wire snips.

I use the bore snake on all my guns first and then clean them. It really cuts the cleaning time in half.
I never thought of taking it to the range, since I clean my guns every time I shoot.

I have one in my range box and another at my hoe cleaning box.. It can sure clean up a dirty looking ramp in about 15 seconds..

I love and use my boresnakes, sometimes at the range and always for cleaning when I get home. One of the great inventions in gun maintenance.

I was trained in the military that metal brushes and solvents kill bores and we were forbidden to use them. We cleaned our bores using oil and elbow grease only.
The sniper rifles were cleaned with a boresnake like device that had no bristles, but was mildly abrasive....slightly gritty rope. It was forbidden to use a cleaning rod to avoid risking damage to the rifling.
I clean my guns with HOT water and grease cutting liquid dishsoap. Madge says, "Clean guns AND soft hands!"

I've been looking for snakes without the brushes. Where can I get one?

I use one (Viper Boresnake) on my 10/22 for range trips. After shooting 500+ rounds it can get pretty mucked up and it really helps the gun function reliably for long range sessions. My pisols I just use a nylon bristled bore brush and some solvent. It may not be as quick as a snake, but it gets r dun.
