I feel sorry when any parent loses a child, sh!t happens as u well know. Maybe if they would stay where they legally belong, this might not have happened either, or at least we would not have read about it. Probably gonna be hard to charge an illegal with anythinbg, they are aleady in violation of the law. If they are still here, we will more than likely bear the burden and expense of buying the young man and then shipping his parents back across the border,. I don't see how u arizona and bnorder people put up with this illegal sh!t. I living in Indiana ,maybe it ishere to but it ain't nuttin like where u live but here we are in Indiana and u damn well are not gonna vote in this state unless u show a drivers license either .... alot of laws were broken no doubt in this young mans death to,
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

What would of been even more sad is if the round would of killed the girlfriend! At least it just killed the dumb bastard that pulled the trigger. Booz and guns don't mix, how many times do we have to say this!

It could not happen as described, therefore it is a lie and fabrication to cover the real shooter. Most likeky the dad.:19:

Please explain??? The published story gives no facts to conclusivley prove or dispove any theory. All any of us here have is opinion and conjecture. The only real fact is that the kid is dead.

Yeah, it's hot here in Arizona today, but turn up the AC and chill a litle.

I agree. I was saddened to hear about this, and I was more saddened to read the opinions here. I'm new to Kahr Talk and this did not make a good impression.

My son's best friend all through school was here illegally through no fault of his own. His family came here legally when he was seven, but never went back to renew their visas so they became illegal. Edwardo is a great guy, a real stand up young man who is working to become a citizen, he can barely even remember living in Mexico. When he graduated high school they threatened to send him back to a home he didn't know but he managed to get a new green card, start the naturalization process, and get into college. If he were to die tragically I hope compassion would be in order, not derision.

I'm not saying this is the same situation, but I doubt everyone knows the facts based on the "news" report.

                    TucsonMTB,

My post is #15. Are you saying that it is uncivil, too? I don't understand. Why you would consider it uncivil?

                    Please explain.

                    Thanks.

                      Jaguar,

You wrote, "I was saddened to hear about this, and I was more saddened to read the opinions here." and "...I hope compassion would be in order, not derision."

Are you saying that my post (#15) lacks compassion and expresses derision? I don't understand. Why would you think this?

                      Please explain.

                      Thanks.

PS One of my brothers and his family have lived in McAllen for over 40 years. I am very familiar with the Rio Grande Valley and the many problems caused by illegal aliens. For example, some hospitals have had to close because they are required by the Feds to treat any illegal alien that presents himself, but the Feds will NOT reimburse any of the cost. The net result? EVERYBODY LOSES! The hospital is no longer providing services to anyone.

Don't be too upset. Notice I said, "seems to be", recognizing that I did not read most of the posts carefully.

Upon re-reading your post, which I probably skimmed the first time, I can see that you put some thought into your post and were even handed in your review of the circumstances.

Please accept my apology for lumping yours in with the remarkably unkind comments made in some of the other posts.

Next time I will just throw a peanut or do something more consistent with your forum persona . . .

Have you ever been to the Rockerville theater near Custer, SD? As a child this was a must visit during our family trips to the Black Hills. Snidely Whiplash would always come on stage before the performance to explain the rules that required the audience to hiss the villain and throw peanuts at the stage when he appeared. Great fun!

It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

                          1) The father lied about how the kid was shot and changed his story: From story: "Torres' Father initially told the police they heard a gunshot and saw him fall to the ground. After some questioning he told a different story"
                          2) The family had been in the country illegally for at least several years, Ttrvino said.
                          3) It is impossible for a bullet to ricochet from the tank straight back to the point where it was shot from. If you don't believe that try to get your gun to do it.

It is not impossible for a ricochet to come back and hit the shooter.

Well, I kinda arbitrarily +1'ed everything above my initial post. So I'll take my knocks and apologize for being a bit callous in my comments.

While this can come across as a darwin moment, you guys are right, somebody lost a family member and it was somebody's fault. It's sickening to think about. The illegal topic is totally off-topic and irrelevant in this case. This is simply an issue of a gun in the hands of someone who did not respect it...or a gun in the hands of someone totally negligent and incompetent. It's the equivalent of firing a gun into the air on the 4th of July. Just dumb.

I feel terrible for anyone that looses a family member.

At the same time, I somewhat stand by some of my thought process in that IF this person was BOTH the one that fired AND the same one that got hit, then society may be better off not having a complete idiot like that walking around, legal resident or not.

Sorry, maybe that's harsh and callous as well. But had it been acute little kid a block away that took the bullet...what's our opinion then.

Another case of removing the magazine and showing that the pistol is not loaded by pointing it at his head and pulling the trigger. Alcohol really enhances the judgment when handling firearms!
