Just a tiny little cheerfully applied tag.... Since the mandate is now a tax, it takes only 51 votes - not 60 - to overturn it. A new bill surely will be roling along soon to repeal Obamacare and the Dems can either vote to repeal it or they can vote to tax the lower class into the poorhouse. Also, now business is motivated even more to get Romney elected and his coffers are swelling.

Thats the way I heard it. Roberts is pretty tricky. Didn't get in the middle in an election year and made it easy and probably likely to be repealed. I can only hope.

Sad part is theory is it will also make obummer a shoe in but I anticipated that.

Don't give up hope yet.
I think many of the polls are as ridiculous as the mud slinging, underhanded,
ad campaign that's being waged. I feel a backfire may be in order.
And a silent, and silently enraged, majority may well have had all they can stomach of this National Embarrassment.

This was a HUGE deal. I think it can't be said enough. It sounds all fairy-tale and all to most of the politically ignorant, but the consequences of this rape of the Constitution will have the ones that supported it crying in the streets within 4 years. Most of our grandparents came here to find a job, just like the Mexicans. When most of them got here they also became an oppressed minority. At one time being Italian was was dirty like the polish and Irish were previously looked down upon. Before unions the corporations basically ran legalized slavery. In the mine towns you lived in the company housing and had to purchase everything from the company store . Prices were calculated so you would live at the poverty line and never be able to save a penny.

I just read something I found really interesting. Since 1996 those convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence are banned for life by the feds from owning a gun. This was upheld by the Supreme Court and it lumps domestic violence in with convicted felons.

Now you may want to read up on domestic violence. Does getting into a loud argument with a family member constitute DV. What about grounding your pot smoking rebellious teenage child? How about an anti-gun spouse who files in spite?

All I'm saying is be aware of the consequences.

You have to be convicted. Washington state law says that if there is a physical domestic violence the primary aggressor goes to jail. (Sometimes hard to determine) I'm kind of proud that it isn't always the husband/boyfriend going either, often times the female is doing the smacking.


Verbals don't quailfy. Spouses have tried to play havoc with their husbands but usually at least in most of our cases the officers see that.

Your right that a Conviction of DV Assault is just like being a felon when it comes to gun rights.

Up here and I'm sure most places a restraining order or protection order disqualifies a gun buyer until it expires or is removed from the record.

Sometimes it's a tangled mess. I had one last week where there was a restraining order, guy said it was suppose to end 3 years ago following a divorce but it never got removed. Until it is no guns for him.
