I have a class IIIa Bianchi ballistic vest that will stop a 44 Magnum.
I'm thinking my Mountain Gun would still knock the SOB down and crack some ribs.
Give me time to get close for a head shot.

My tactical solution to body armor is shooting for the pelvis and legs.
357 Sig to the )(*&*(* should get their attention.

I've actually asked Mas Ayoob on GlockTalk for advice on the subject.

Reports were he had a ballistic helmet, leg, neck & groin body armor but any hit was still gonna break his rhythm! Also reported that there were legal ccw holds in the theater that followed the law..... NO FIREARMS!
I believe there were studies that show a 45 will knock you down with serious contusions while wearing body armor but the 45 wouldn't kill you as in penetration.....

Ding Ding Ding! There's the answer. None of them do, but you can bet your ass their protection will include guns.

An FN 5.7 would have poked some holes in the armor and him. Small holes, but lots of them. He'd a started leaking like a sieve in short order.
              Very interesting...

                Saw this today: http://news.yahoo.com/calls-gun-cont...132319718.html

This nation has an issue with these shooters. The issue isn't the gun, it's the crazy bassturd that wields it.
Until we as a nation adress the crazy issue, the shootings will continue. Very sad but true...

On a side note, I have been carrying my P380 and a spare mag because I precive my most likely trouble to be more the Ocala Fl situation over the Colorado movie house shooting. I know that it is very likely I will never need a gun to defend myself and my family. The odds favor never, with the next possiblity being more like the Florida robbery. The odds I would/could find myself in that movie house situation go way above my shot at winning the lotto and getting hit by lightning while celebrating my new money.
So with that in mind, is it weird I'm today shopping for a IWB holster for my .45cal 1911?
That will have to hold me till I can afford a new PM45...
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
                "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
                "more stuff than you are"
                God Bless our Troups!

CrabbyAzz, your two comments caused me think perhaps we are rubbing off on you. I mean that in a good way. You had valid points that most of us can agree with. That was very refreshing.

I just think it is a sad situation. I was reading the paper today about the incident, and I really wonder more so about what is going through these people's minds than how it is going to effect my rights though. I'm so sick of of hearing these types of things in the news. I wish we could figure out how to get these people help before they go out shooting people up that didn't do them no wrong. It's crazy. But, I'm sure more likely to die by one of these loons before I figure and answer or a miracle cure. Another thought...no offensive, but the way I read it. It didn't seem like a ccw holder would have a chance in ___ to stop it. Maybe, but I suppose we will never know, because they didn't have a chance from the get-go -- since they follow the laws.

The key word is LAW Abiding legal gun owners, in this case the theater bears some responsibility A) allowing a patron to exit a fire door w/o an emergency, put a door stop in place and RE-ENTER loaded for Humans. All w/o any front line of security, an usher, at the very least.
                        B) leaving LAW Abiding legal gun owners defenseless, due to the No firearms policy in place.

Then you have is Headline media whore!

Ed Rendell, the former Democratic governor of Pennsylvania, was more emphatic than many in the early hours after the shooting. "Everyone is scared of the NRA," he said on MSNBC. "Number one, there are some things worth losing for in politics and to be able to prevent carnage like this is worth losing for."

This ******** is willing to forgo the constitution (Signed in Pennsylvania) Which reaps tons of tourist $$$ at Independence Square in Philthy-delphia!

Meanwhile there has been flash mobs ravaging shop owners and NO one has stopped them from emptying a business clean. Where's this Fattass on his own home turf?
                          Talking Colorado, that's where...

Tinman you need a Gov w/ some Balls, Wanna borrow My Chris Christie?

I'll take Chris Christie as soon as he grows a set and fights for reasonable gun laws in his own state.
