Why not get at least one. $200 plus the cost of the can. Just about cheaper than another barrel.
On the internet, the number of posts do not correlate to actual knowledge.
The notch is supposed to be there as well as the bulge at the front of the frame!
You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws.

I dunno . . . He will also need some new, taller sights. HK offers at least one nice set for the purpose. By the time he gets his stamp and the sights the added cost will probably be over $400, not counting the grand for the can itself.

Still, it becomes possible to shoot without annoying the neighbors.
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

It's not close to the cost of any barrel I've bought.
          But I already knew that.

Haven't decided if I'll really get a suppressor or not.
Just found a deal on the OEM thredded barrel at just over $200, with one left,
and couldn't pass on that price.

I'm aware of the tall suppressor sights too.
Was actually thinking of a second HK45CT that I could build with this barrel and some tall sights (and a HK45C).
Already have three or four 10 round mags coming.
I think that's the only difference with the HK45C and HK45CT really.

I'm getting XS Big Dots and a Light LEM conversion installed on this HK45C.
It's going to be my EDC.

          • Okay, Tinman, how about a bear keg on the end of that threaded barrel?

            • Well, tomorrow I'm going to do something really dumb and totally irresponsible, even though I know better. I hate weakness, especially when it's me succumbing to my base desires. I've received wise counsel to the contrary, know it is not financially prudent, but, damn I want it so bad I have to do it anyway. I keep saying she'll get over it but at least I was up front about it and told her before I do it. She doesn't agree but will stand by me and we'll suffer the consequences together.

I'm ordering a Glock 30 SF tomorrow. I know it's not a Kahr but it's what I want. I have a thing for redheads and .45 handguns. I told her at least it's not a redhead with a .45 but she makes it known I wouldn't have to fret over that one very long.

It's like reading about what you shouldn't do in the bible so for reinforcement you read that ever day until the only thing you think of is what your shouldn't do, not what you should do. Maybe I should read "walk in the path of righteousness" instead of "Do not lust in your heart after her beauty." Lust, lust, lust.....

Okay, so now it's pass the damn apple, light the fires and kick open the doors, cause OldLincoln is on his way.

                    LOL very funny.
I really think this might be the one.
There's something very comforting about a Big Dog .45.
But it's true that I like getting up in the morning.
And checking my mood before picking a handgun to carry for the day.
And saying my arsenal is complete is nothing but folly.

I do believe this HK obsession will subside to some degree with Halloween.
I'm sleeping much easier with the HK45C in hand.
And tracking numbers for a LEM conversion kit and a threaded tactical barrel on the way.

My HK45C, adopted by the United States Naval Special Warfare Command, makes me smile.

                    • Hey, nothin wrong with full size carry. Ask Limatunes who is a wisp of a woman and carries a 1911 IWB and hides it well.

                      • You have a good carry gun there, Barth. Impressive to see who are carrying those in our armed forces.

I just got back from the range. Used My shooting buddy's rifle rest to adjust my sight picture a little with my CM9. I had put a Dawson Precision Fiber Optic front sight on it after the original one fell off and got lost while I was shooting qualifying rounds for my NC CC permit! (I qualified just fine! ) My buddy did some research and found that the Dawson sight is .012" higher, which explained why my shots have been going a little low. So, I raised the front sight in my sight picture a little to compensate. (I've been too cheap to spend another $50 on a Dawson rear sight to complete the set. Maybe I will someday.)

I've been having trouble with my new Taurus 738 TCP 380. It's like something broke or came undone in the trigger mechanism. Light strike, no fire, failure to reset. My buddy also has a TCP and he said there is definitely something wrong with that trigger. Going back to the mothership.

My buddy just got a Caracal C in 9mm. Same size as a Glock 19, but a little thinner and more rounded in the grip, so it fits my small hand better and the trigger reach is perfect. We were both very impressed with the gun! The gun came clean and lightly oiled, ready for it's first range session. The slide looks finished as well on the inside as the outside. The recoil spring is designed to last for 10,000 rounds, yet the gun is easy to rack. It has a great, light trigger with a very short reset. The gun has an extremely low bore center, so muzzle rise is more like a 22! I was eating the heart out of a target at 21' with fairly rapid fire. The gun performed flawlessly through about 120 rounds. No breakin or diaper training required!

I had been planning on buying a Glock 19, but had to wait awhile for finances. I think I am converted and will buy a Caracal C instead!

                        • Okay, I'm officially a sinner (as if there were any doubt) as I now own a Glock 30 SF. That is, I paid for it, signed the sales agreement, and brought home the manual. I held it for a few minutes but it remains in the maternity ward until 10/26 11:45:15. I'll quickly get it added to my CCW to make sure I don't get in trouble carrying it to and from the range, although not really carry until I prove it.

My new Garrett Fusion IWB holster has been ordered and may arrive about the same time.

I think the only other gadget I need is the Laserlite cartridge for dry fire practice, but I may wait a bit for that. Unless I can get my neighbor to buy the 9mm one.

SWCC guy's and their boats rock. I want one of those boats.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I am now biding my time and window shopping, waiting 'til four weeks from now until funds come in. Then, I intend to purchase one of these tack drivers. Amazingly, it is priced about $100 cheaper than a Glock 19 and shows superior design, simplicity with less parts, and superb quality in the build. Here are a couple of shots and a comparison with the G19.

Haven't shot or handled a Caracal but they seem to have a good reputation.
Personally I wouldn't recommend a gen 4 G19 with all the troubles some folks
are having with them on GlockTalk.
Seems like MIM parts, quality control or something is amiss.
They seem to be hit or miss with getting a reliable one.

Make sure and let use know how you like the Caracal after you get some range time in.

So far my HKs have been working out.
But they are certainly premium guns commanding a premium price.
                                My P30 40, basically like a Glock G23, list at $950 (I paid $900).
                                And my HK45C list at $1050 (I paid $999).
                                The twins, P2000 357s, I got a deal on at $649 each.
                                But those list at $800/900?!?

I had thought about a Dan Wesson Valor but they run like $1,500.
And Wilson Combat start at like $2,500.
Guess if you want a Les Bauer or Ed Brown $3000 to $5000 and up?!?!?!?

Holy Moly!!! I just can't imagine spending that kind of money on a handgun.
My $1000 HKs don't sound half bad compared to that rare air.
