it was the entire event and basically a private enterprise event, He was at the edge of outter space, so the ballon was not gonna go any further. Takes guts, no utter way to say it
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I'd be willing to bet that he saw it as a "calculated risk". Agreed, it took balls and one hell of a lot of planning. Just goes to show you what you can do under free capitalism vs. socialism. Now that he's done it, we can all join in the fun. Who's next?

With such a soft landing, I think I could handle it. Probably not any scarier than some carnival rides nowadays. Mach 1.24, 833.9 mph! Wouldn't that be cool?!!! I think I'd want to wait a few more seconds to break the free fall timespan record. I don't know why he didn't, unless it was starting to get very warm with increasing air resistance.
        Very interesting...

From what I understand he starter to spin like a 5.56 from a 1:7 barrel. You've got to watch the entire video to begin to understand what he went through.

Two things: First, I wonder what was going through his mind when he was in the spin, and second, keep in mind he didn't really do that. It was the government that paved the road to the launch site so it was Obama that did it!

I have to agree here. They'd have had to kick me off the platform, several times, because I'd have a death grip on the railings.

Still, that was a cool jump and I bet there are many things learned from it. Although I didn't see wings, so I think Red Bull doesn't give you wings, it gives you balls of steel instead!

Did you guys know that the old guy talking to him on the radio was the guy who first did this back in 1960? Yup, same guy. They consulted him from the very beginning and on through to the end for the Red Bull jump. That guy accidentally ripped his glove on the way up, and then on the way down passed out from lack of oxygen and pressure. Woke up really close to the ground, went "oh sh!t" and pulled his parachute.

From what I understand from the video, he pulled the parachute early because his visor fogged up so he couldn't see how close to the ground he was. Erred on the side of caution just in case he was a lot closer to the ground than he thought. The original guy who did this back in the 1960's pulled his late because he was unconscious until the last minute.

I think he also had an auto chute opening feature thatis now on many chutes. U set ur altimeter and it will open foru in case u pass out or sumpin like that. I don't think he was in any danger of the chute not working.

still takes balls of steel. That why no woman has done it, they lack the cahones. Hell Starbug, what do u gals call a gal who does this in reference to what we call men folk. Just sayin. If u gals are shor tof what tocomeup with, get ahold of me and I know some great names but Bawanna won't allow me to post um.. Idrink cofee with a gal every day that has made over 400 jumps.
she fascinates me with her ability and she is a mother of 2 and quit when they got old enough to say "Mom I wanna learn to jump.

I watched the jump on TV too....

I was watching him get unbuckled and unhooked, while he was standing on the ledge, I had the thought that if they miscalculated....he could've stepped off the ledge and been suspended right there....would have to do the Charlie and Grandpa thing and start burpin and swimming to get back down.

What a crazy, amazing, wonderful feat!!! When he was spinning I too held my breath.

what really got me was the sideview picture...showing the horizon of the earth. that was flippin HIGH!!!
