That notch in the rail is supposed to be there
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson (1764).

The Frog Lube sounds interesting but I think you have to bake it in the oven if I'm not mistaken....There was a question asked if Anti Sieze can be used and that is a big ole no because 1. it's not a lube and 2. it would make a huge mess with everything it touches...
Just for the info to the forum and I'm not sure if they are still offering it but several months ago "Weapon Shield" was offering a free sample if you went to their web site...I did and many others here did too and they sent me a nice little sample bottle with an needle dropper and I still have some and it's good stuff but not so good that I would pay big bucks to order their product...Try their web site and see if they are still sending out a free sample, it's worth it to get the little refillable needle dropper they send....
I will refill the little tube with Mobil 1 motor oil in 0 w 20 weight and it works just as good as any of the other high price stuff out there.....One quart bottle=lifetime supply....
You can spend a bunch of money on stuff like Gunscrubber but go to NAPA and get the same stuff in a bigger can for less than 5 bucks....
In reality here is all you need to keep any handgun clean, lubed and happy...
1. A can of NAPA Non Chlorinated Spray Brake Cleaner
2. A jar of Hoppe's #9 bore cleaner
3. A small dropper of 0w20 or 5w20 Synthetic Motor Oil whatever brand you like to use in your car...
4. If you like to use grease they pick up a syringe of Shooters Choice red gun grease at any Walmart for less than 5 bucks and when its used up refill it with synthetic automobile chassis grease and again 1 tube is a lifetime supply...
Gun cleaning isn't rocket science and you can spend a bunch of bucks on high priced fancy marketed super duper ultra lube and it wont do any better job or make your pistol work any better than the items mentioned above...
Now this is just my opinion and if you like to experiment with the latest greatest scientific gizmo stuff then feel free but all I'm saying is that it just isn't necessary...." An armed society is a polite society".... Robert A. Heinlein

Just like any other product out there it's all marketing and lots and lots of people believe it and buy into it....It's Madison Avenue Advertising and like P.T. Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute"" An armed society is a polite society".... Robert A. Heinlein

Anti Seize is great stuff for what it's designed for like putting on spark plug threads before installing in an aluminum cylinder head so you can get them back out 100,000 miles later without breaking them but I wouldn't use it on a gun...
Have you ever gotten that stuff on your hands???...It's like black graphite and very difficult to wash off, wouldn't look too good on a pair of khaki pants..." An armed society is a polite society".... Robert A. Heinlein
