Well, honestly and frankly, I thought ol' George was toast. I was convinced that the jurors (mostly mothers whom I thought would 'identify' more with Trevon than Geo.) would 'throw the book' at Mr. Z. IMHO, FWIW, I think he's EXTREMELY lucky to have dodged some serious jail time on some serious trumped up charges!

Although I can't imagine EVER doing what he did, I AM glad that this situation resulted in a verdict that now becomes a legal precedence that favors all law-abiding citizens who 'carry.'

What is really surprising about this trial is that the news coverage makes Sanford sound like an all white, racist city. But, looking at the demographics, it looks to be 50% black or pretty darn close. Even has a black chief of police (after the first one was fired) and a black city manager.

So nice to finally see GOOD news here in America. After all the crap the dbaggers have done to us over the last 4 plus years. Now the prosecution of the prosecutor and lying scumbag media that lied about Zimmerman should begin. Here's hoping he walks away rich by suing all those scumbag liars at nbc and the rest from all the lies they told about him.

Clearly states that you have the right to use deadly force ONLY in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury, sexual assault, or kidnapping. AND that person your using force against produces a firearm (real or fake) or any other instrument that can be lethal.
"Borderline"? As a "creepy a$$ *******", I really could care less about "race relations". The only racism here was treyvon. I for one am fully fed up with the reverse racism that is more than tolerated, but encouraged by todays left. The prosecution of the "white/hispanic" Zimmerman is proof positive. When groups like the black panthers and la raza are targeted for extinction like the kkk is, instead of getting preferential treatment and their crimes covered up by "his people" holder, I couldn't give a crap.

The police saw that... and the physcial evidence supported Zimmerman... as did eyewitnesses... but race baiters and the liberal press were outraged and fomented racist outrage... fanning the flames of racism... and politicians intervened and tried to bring about "social justice"... or in this case... some kind of legal LYNCHING! Fortunately the jury saw the truth and rendered a just verdict.

This was the correct verdict. There is no law against foloowing some one When T circled around and sucker punched him, that made him the aggressor and stand your ground takes effect.
There are no winners here and Z kept well composed vs fist pumping the victory.
Obama once again will drive a wedge into race over this....

                Not guilty

It's interesting to see the different takes, the different vibes, on various forums. On some, there are folks who seem very eager to cast stones at Zimmerman as if they themselves are without sin. Of course these people (usually ex-cops) would never have gotten out of the truck to follow Crayon if they were Zimmerman, therefore Zimmerman is guilty of idiocy and deserving of persecution.

They're like the lady who doth protest too much, me thinks.

No one won, but a greater tragedy was prevented in that Zimmerman wasn't falsely convicted and sentenced to prison... not that he will be any freer when he is released.

His life is totally ruined and he'll have to become an anonymous entity and try to stay beyond the reach of those who will doubtlessly seek to avenge Trayvon.

In my southern state which is a very strong believer in stand your ground and self defense rights, Z still could have had a good chance of being locked up if he made first contact. The law specifically states that if it's proven that person is the one that starts something and then uses lethal force, you may lose the protections of stand your ground and self defense because you started it. People better know the laws of their state.

They never proved Zimmerman started it but Florida also is much more loose on the stand your ground definition.

Agree 100%. No matter what we do they are still going to call us racist. So, call me a racist and I will wear it like a badge.

This was never in fact a SYG case at all. Zimmermans defense team decided not to go for a SYG defense. If they had it would have been over months ago in a bench trial where the judge makes the call with no jury.

That is how SYG is handled in FL.

I have a black friend I've known for 40 years or so, and he texted me he was pretty angry about the verdict, and I text back that I was sorry he was angry about it. I think that pissed him off. This is the kind of crap this trial has done, break up friendships, got the races at each other's throats, even though Z was Hispanic. I think some people are so used to getting their way, they can't handle it when things don't go as planned.
