    Big Brother is Watching

#1 it is scary because I can't imagine how expensive, complicated, and large this program will become in just 10 years (who will pay for this?). It is not like we can just print money when we want. Oh wait, we do... and it is a problem.

#2 Europe has lost all expectation of privacy with cameras EVERYWHERE. It is not a good feeling with a powerful government becoming "big brother", and could use this for "evil" in just one change of administration. Look what the IRS has done recently abusing their powers. It happens, and it WILL happen. It is only a matter of time before this far-reaching data gathering of the NSA will be abused by some government agency.

#3 There are a million other ways to spend the money better. That is, the money we don't have.

It's all about power and money, and people will go pretty far to get more when they get a taste of it.

      Okay, I give up!

      Where is Waldo???

The sensors to look are already here. All we need is the will to look for Orwell to be right. Peace!
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
      "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?

Not a problem with me. Public is public. Private is private. I don't mind them watching the streets and public places. I do mind them intruding into my home, phone, computer....

            1) The problem is that they already started watching computer and phone (in a way), and eventually it will become more intrusive. It has, and it will. Anyone is in denial if they don't think it is moving towards this direction.

            2) Now the cameras in public places could eventually be added in homes everywhere for the sake of security. You may say "no way that will happen", but look what we've already done for the sake of security at the airport. Do you think that will go farther in 10-20 years? It sure will!

            3) Based on sales of video game console cameras, there could already be vision systems in 20 to 30 percent of households in America. Microsoft alone sold over 25 million XBOX Kinect cameras. They are already connected to a computer and programmed to recognize people, their faces, their motion, etc. AND, they are connected to the internet. They just need to tap into cameras that already exist... "For the sake of national security" says the NSA.

            4) The government is already forcing us to purchase a product (health care). They could (in the future) force the camera thing in every household "for the sake of national security".

I can't see some of these things happening now, but public sentiment changes over time... especially when people cry out for safety. I could see this happening by the time my kids are my age.

I said all this because it is a slippery slope, and if we don't want to see our nation crash at the bottom of the hill, we need to be aware (like situational awareness is so important), we need to be aware of our nations current situation... because it looks to me like something bad is going down.

            And vote.

The photo is faked. Sorry guys.

ONE of many examples: Look at the lower right of the pic. See the roof line of the building there. Follow that upper left corner toward the fence that runs along the bottom of the pic. About 3/4s in the right of the pic there is a man in a green jacket walking from left to right of pic. He has NO head! The guy to his immediate rt is missing a torso and the guy to his right is missing a head too. Chop chop chopped.

Could be faked, but it could be that multiple cameras take a photo of a large scene then software automatically combines the photos. This technology already exists. It is automatic "chop chop", and could result in inaccurate seams if people move quickly.

So, I wouldn't discount it as "fake" right away.

Understood but the evidence in the photo doesn't support that possibility IMHO. Another clue: The resolution is not consistent at a given distance from the camera.

                  No, I still say chopped

Here is some Wikipedia information about the technology in general... Pretty interesting. And, yes, it does make you think where the technology is heading and the implications of it.
