I received this photo of a vintage patrol car in an email recently:

I tried doing a little research on it and found some interesting sites.
Perhaps, some here might find them interesting as well:

For a little firearms content, here's my Colt Police Positive Special (in .38 Special) from about the same era:

It probably saw some patrol work itself, but south of the border:

Sure like to have that 57 in my garage. Always liked those. Family had one when growing up. Straight 6, three on the tree.

Thanks Greg, that was really fun to look through....I remember a few of those 71 Plymouth Satellites from Dekalb County Police with the little backwards facing hood scoops and running from them on my Honda Trail 70 after illegally riding it in the park back in the day when I was a hoodlum, Never did catch ole Getsome and the gang though.........Those fellows gave it a hell of a try to catch us before we hit the woods and those cars would do a fine burnout using up those skinny little bias ply county tires...

I outrun em a few times on my Mini Trail 70 too.

Only time they caught me was once I was giving my sister a ride to her friends house, 5/0 got on me and I told her to jump off and run between the houses, not enough beans to get away with both of us on it.

She would jump, figured the cops would shoot me like Bonnie and Clyde. They got me that time. I didn't give her no more rides though.

It was a hell of an outlaw life, always looking over your shoulder, didn't have no mirrors. That ole 70 has a few stories she did.

Just requalified on LEDT. Law Enforcement Driver Training today, Pursuits, TVI, Collision Avoidance. Fun day. Just as good as a day at the firing range.

I've only had the opportunity to experience our fine LEO's vehicles for the backseat once in my lifetime.

I can honestly say I truly appreciate them from the exterior view!

I think we need to get Bawanna and his trail 70 to your place and see how it goes. Give you some real world practice.

Somebody will need to post some pics of the great escape though.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Want to see what will be the end of our country as we know it???

Didn't have cell phones or cameras on every pole back in those days.

I even got chased a couple times by an unmarked car. Things were different back in those days, they just wanted to chew me out some. And they were laughing the one time they did catch me with sister on the back. Told me I needed a bigger bike.

Don't know why they bothered to even try, they knew where I lived. I guess it's all about the chase?
