Interesting tip. What is the intended use of that knife? That would make an excellent steak knife...you know the once a year exceptional porter house kind of knife.

I just got these two beauties from a new friend down Iowa way. Did a little swapping. He made these long ago, said they were in his junk drawer. The damascus is breathtaking. 152 layers. He never sharpened it as he did it just to see if he could. Wanted to keep it pretty and didn't want to cut nobody handling it. But the edge it perfect, straight as a straight arrow (seen a few bent ones). I do dig damascus.
He forged the little hatchet from scratch too. It's just a joy to behold and begs to be hung on my chair someplace. One of those just gotta chop something deals.

And Tiger Maple on both. Gotta love it. Sent me some Tiger Maple wood too. Anxious to play with it too.

Greg, that's another exceptionally beautiful knife man. Very well done.

            Sure, who doesn't like knives.
These are many of my smaller ones. Autos, Auto Assited and others on the left. Mostly unused, unsharpened Case pockets from the 1970s on the right.

For everyday carry, I usually have an older, (1940-1965), Case pocket knife, a very small SAK on my key chain and a Kershaw AO of some type.
A couple Colts, a couple Brownings, a Makarov, a Sig, a couple Rugers, a couple Kahrs, a couple Smith & Wessons, a Walther, and a couple Berettas .....Oh, and some long guns...

A Jewish Moyle would love those collections!
which reminds me of a joke....
Two little boys are going to the hospital the next day for operations.
The older boy leans over and asks,

                  "What are you having done?"

The younger boy says, "I'm getting my tonsils out and I'm afraid."

The first boy says, "You've got nothing to worry about, I had that done when I was four. They put you to sleep and when you wake up, they give you lots of Jello and ice cream, it's a breeze."

The second boy then asks, "What are you going in for?"

                  The first boy says, "Circumcision."

                  "Whoa!" the smaller boy replies.

"Good luck, buddy. I had that done when I was born, couldn't walk for a year!"

I made that as a kind of "frontier garter knife" for my wife (she had seen some she liked at the SASS Championships in Norco, Ca.). I had planned a long wharncliffe blade, but ended up lifting the point a little as it seemed to fit the flow of the knife. It does work pretty well as a steak knife

Yup, edge quenched.. triple tempered...the spine is pretty much soft.

                    Thanks Bawanna.
Great pieces you have there: love the look and craftsmanship. The dag shows real skill (well above my effort). Is that a copper guard on it? File worked?
The hatchet/hawk just looks right, I'm really digging it. Thanks for sharing!

Hey, how about some better shots of that barong you put a handle on? I think you nailed that perfectly.

Ok what is that? OTF. I feel a little dumb right now.

Greg, I'll take some more pictures of the barong straight away. That is really a slick knife. Nice and light, just feel good.
