    Better. Big brother looks great!

Makes me in the mood to tote the Remington for awhile again. It's due for some love.

I didn't like the trigger at all and the new pistols with the SS slide are heavier - 25 vs 30 ozs. Fortunately, the stolen P220 was recovered in great shape so I sold the new one.
Ditto. I'll only do DA/SA/decocker in my CZs. Not sure why since I love my DA Kahrs and revolvers.

So they made a DA only 3gen S&W? I thought I saw one just yesterday in a used gun case. It didn't have a safety. Did that mean it was DA only?

Probably so, here's a DAO 3953 (photos from here):

My 3913 is pretty much the same gun, but DA/SA:

I love the S&W's. Carried a 4516 for many years. Hated the first double action pull.

Built a house for a retired LA SWAT guy up here. His partner, also LA SWAT lived next door, what a fun time.

Anyhow they carried the Smiths. Both had very nice trigger jobs done on their guns but even still they called the first round a cocking round. It's only purpose was to get the hammer back so they could shoot accurately.

These guys were high speed low drag been there done that. Both had over 200 first entries which in LA jargon only counts if somebody inside is shooting at the police etc.
He said on more than one occasion the bad guys gave up after he shot a cocking round into the floor while bringing the gun up to shoot the bad guy. He felt it influenced the bad guys, letting them know he wasn't messing around.

Probably a little exaggerated but neither one of them had much of a rep for drama or sugar coating.

^^^^ coulda sworn I saw a picture of that one before it was green.

Thanks GB. Those 3gen S&Ws just never fit my hand right. No hump in the backstrap. But I was curious.

Don't change course on my account. I loved the Sig addition. But the addition of the Smith 1911 is very pleasant also. Beautiful gun. Seen a few, never played with one.

Greg, you still got yours or did that one go walk about, my memory is weak today.

As far as reliability, the P220 has to be at the top, as far as .45 goes...........................my fullsize has never even so much as burped, and I must say that I've never heard anything negative about them............like you said, not a 1911 though. I'm a da/sa lover, but got the itch for something new, and a 1911 design would be new for me. What does the wife say, " Expanding my horizon's". Something like that.

I went on to somebody else, but it funded a a few rifles I'm fond of. It was nice pistol, it just didn't sing to me:

If you get a good one, they are pretty darn reliable. Mine never gave me any trouble, but it was another gun that just didn't sing to me (first round I fired from it):

That said, SIG did have quite a few 220s with extractor issues.

I have gotten rid of every 1911 that I had that is bigger than a Commander, currently I have a Dan Wesson C-Bob in 45 a Ruger SR1911 Commander45, A Kimber Tactical UltraII 45 and my latest a Dan Wesson ECO in 9mm. The C-Bob and Ruger both have 4.25 " barrels the Kimber has a 3" and the ECO has a 3.5" All are more accurate a than I am. I also have S&W 3913 9mm in a blued version that has feed any bullet profile that I have tried in it and it is scary accurate even when I shoot it, but it is not a 1911. My son still has a Springfield Compact Carry Comp that I gave him when he turned 21 Y.O. It's still running fine after several 1000 rounds, that model was a limited run that was an Officers size alloy frame with a 3" coned barrel with a Compensator permanently attached taking the slide length out to 4 ". I miss that one but at least it's still in the family.
Good luck with your choice and get ready for your next addiction.

I dunno. I've never felt the call to buy a regular Sig. I did get a Sig 1911 and that one hasn't so much as burped either. Maybe it's the brand?

                            Now, if we're talking Sigs, here's what I really would recommend: P210 (it's single action like a 1911 )

Earlier stainless slides with internal extractors.

                              I'd love to own a P210
FWIW, the 220 I posted a photo of is a single action.

                                +1
My old school, stamped slide, Sig P220 45 has been flawless.
                                I shoot it well.
                                But It's not a 1911.
And the Wilson Combat CQB is a tack driver.

No shocker to anyone that knows me.
                                But for a 45 ACP that's not a 1911?
I'll take my HK USP Tactical 45 all day every day.
The USPT45 has been bombproof and deadly accurate.
