  • Have Ya'll Heard?

The rapture is supposed to occur this coming Saturday.

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/05/19...orld-saturday/

Please don't be deceived by this. The Bible says that there will be false prophets and I consider this guy to be one. The Bible also says that no one knows the time or the date that Jesus will return.

I feel led to say that churches and Christians sometimes do and say things that will drive people away from religion. If you are an unbeliever, please know that the most important thing is to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

    Flame me if you must.
Yes, I am a gun lovin' woman!
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I'm happy to hear this. I just filled my van with gas yesterday 102 bucks and I'd hate to have the world end with a full tank of gas. Just seems wasteful to me ya know.

I should buy a 1911 so I can shoot one before I go.

Cabela's is offering 12 months interest free too, not that I'd care after Saturday anyway.

All kidding aside,I don`t believe you`ll receive any flaming from the people here.We don`t always agree with each other but there is a civility present on this forum that is sadly lacking on others. On a personal note,I consider myself to be a practicing Christian. That means I ain`t got it down perfect yet.Don`t know if I ever will but I`m gonna keep practicing anyway. Was it Voltare who said God was a comedian playing to an audience that was too afraid to laugh?

If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?

When the Government is wrong, it's dangerous to be right!

As a non-believer, that makes no sense. But if it makes your day better writing it, more power to you - no flames here. My wife believes, as does my whole family and my kids are being raised that way as well, contrary to popular belief - we can all get along just fine as long as we respect each others beliefs. I did take that as a little poke in the ribs, however.

Thunder, no poke was intended and I'm sorry I came across that way. What I was trying to say was not to shy away from possibly believing in Jesus because of the actions of some churches or Christians. People are imperfect and are sinners. Jesus was the only perfect human and he wants all of his children to love him and be in Heaven with him. You don't have to belong to a church or a religion to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

Not everyone is saved or can be saved.

As a newly saved person, I've learned a few things I'll pass on. Christians are saved by the grace of God through their faith in Jesus Christ.

Those who are saved have the Holy Spirit within them. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, guide, friend, etc. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit brings me great comfort because I know I'm never alone as I struggle with life's challenges.

It is through reading the Bible that we learn what God has to say to us and it is through our prayers that we share our thoughts with God.

Picking up and reading the Bible each day was the best thing I have ever done. It has changed my life.

What of those who live their lives according to Christian values, believe in and respect God, but don't believe Christ was divine?

                          John 14:1- 6

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It is not enough to be a good person. One must believe that Jesus died on the cross for their sins and accept him as their saviour.

I thought the world was supposed to end on 12/21/2012, the last day of the Mayan calendar.

That would fit into my schedule much better. I really dont want to miss the Jesse Stone movie this sunday and it gives me time to whittle out a few more grips. I do so hate unfinished business.

Ironically it was just pointed out to me an hour ago that 12/21/2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the forming of our SWAT team. Could be a real bang of a celebration.
