Get well soon, and good luck with your recovery.
Last fall I found out I had prostate cancer and chose to go a different route and had it nuked with very few problems. Using this treatment calypsomedical.com
Last PSA test 1.7 down from 5.7

i have a feeling ur older than dirt p;opeye and tha tis why the nuke thing was probably the best for you. My oldest brother also went that rout 9years ago and his PSA has been for year under 1.
los of advancementr since I had the radical surgery 10 years ago, but I was only 53 and at the time they recommended complete removalover nuking or just radiation. Today with the robitic surgery one is on his way home the next day with minor incisions and they say it is far safer than the intrusive surgery that I had back then, certaily alot less blood loss to. Catch prostrate cancer earlier enough andu will out live it, catch it to late and lioke mose all ouither cancers u will die from it but yoiu will love a long time with it before u cash in.

It is heridiatry they tell me. My two uncles had it, my dad had it,, I had it, my brother had it my middle brother has been spared.

Thanks guys for the kind words and well wishes.

macho to it, back when I had it that was the only surgery, now this robotic is the way to go, if one meets the standards and evidentle3y your gleason score was in the right numbers. Glad to see your back. I had to wear a catheter for about 2 weeks bu they tell me the robotic people don't wear um long. I look down at my gut and I feel like I had a cesearian, but heh, I am good togo, have been for 9 years, the cancer came back on me a year later and then 7 weeks of radiation and since then have been fine, I will probably die on my bike before this sh-t gets me. take care, don't rush it, good things come to those who wait, besides that , now you can read my dribble every day and that will make u wantto mend really faster soyou can get the hell outta dopdge!!!

                        caio ol friend.

fokk I thought they took all marines prostrates out before they went into service, oh thats right, it your balls they take out

Lots of ways to go today when you have prosate cancer that were not available only a few years back. As mentioned age has a lot to do with what options one might want to go with. I chose the type of radiation I did because it was like a smart bomb (GPS for the body) and only radiated the area that needed to be radiated and not other organs.
As some of you know I still ride a motorcycle and the surgery could have been a problem with incontinence when riding. From the riders I've talked to that have had the surgery it's a very real problem. The bottom line with something like Prostate Cancer is there is no one cure that is best for all. Age and your over all health, and your life style has to be taken into account. You and you only have to be 100% comfortable with what path you are going with. I took my time and was able to talk to alot of men who went thought it and chose the treatment that was best for me. The important thing is that there is absolutely no reason for a man to die of prostate cancer today. There are just so many good options to go with.

confoprmal bgeam radiation done on my prostarte area. It is very similar to the smart bomb, actualy it just radiates that one area. Ihad it done after the radical prostarte surgery and was clean for a year, then it came back and Ihad the conformal beam (smart bomb). I opted for the surgery back then per my docs feelings to as the intent was surgery is no guarantee as u well kow and as I well found out, but witght h surgery one stillhas the option of radiation if surgery does not get it all. you cant do radiation and then surgery. . I worried also about continuance but it was never one issues, not one time. I tide damn near 24/7 and the only time I pee my pant sis when I see some topless blonde on the back of a honda
