As some of you know I still ride a motorcycle and the surgery could have been a problem with incontinence when riding. From the riders I've talked to that have had the surgery it's a very real problem. The bottom line with something like Prostate Cancer is there is no one cure that is best for all. Age and your over all health, and your life style has to be taken into account. You and you only have to be 100% comfortable with what path you are going with. I took my time and was able to talk to alot of men who went thought it and chose the treatment that was best for me. The important thing is that there is absolutely no reason for a man to die of prostate cancer today. There are just so many good options to go with.
As far as surgery it does seem that most guys are opting for the robotic. In my research on radiation treatment I seem to remember about 4-5 different ways to go. Also, I'd probably have qualified for two different "trial" treatments. One that does freezing and a second that does heating. Both are out patient treatments but don't yet have long term results stats. Some folks get by with holistic treatment. Like to see a simple preventive regimen that would prevent the cancer in the first place.

Oh well, life goes on (or doesn't) and that's just the way it is...

Bill, with all the new advances in the medical fields I would not be suprised if that became a reality in certain types of cancer in a few years. Who knows maybe in a few years there will be a pill for men and women to take so we don't get prostate or breast cancer.
One of my options because I caught it so early was actually do nothing. Now they figure I'll die of somethhing else before the prostate cancer even if it were to come back. Shoot give me another twenty years and all I'll be looking for is some nurse to change my sh8ty pants and wipe the drool of my chin.

But for now lets ride and shoot'm if we got'm ....:33:

I was told that to, but u kinow this is also a guess by the doctors who don'thave the cancer in their body. I choose not to gamble foronce it gets out, ur done or at least on borrowed time. My dad had it at age 73 sand the doctors toldus that wouldnot be the thing that ends myt dads life kand he died at age 83 of just being worn out. Its a crap shoot but I choosenot to roll the dice.

heh WTf, we 3 osters ar ehere writing about it, so Imo WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICES..

They told my dad much the same thing, the prostrate cancer was a slow variety and he'd outlive it. He didn't, had it in alot of other places too.

I'll go out on a very wispy limb right here and tell you I believe the cure is already available. Just too much money for drug companies and research facilities to be made without the cure so it's bought and kept under wraps.

Just like Chevy suburbans that get 75 miles to the gallon, the technology is there. You think the oil companies are gonna play along with that.

I'm glad you guys are still here to chat with no matter what it takes.

Bawanna, that's why I chose not to let it go,because it can spread to other areas. Didn't want to take that chance but they had to tell me that do nothing was also one of my options. Hell today all I do is have it checked every 6 months and I'm good to go as if it never happened.

nope, don't believe that bawanna, cures are not something that drug companies hide. Might be technology out there for 75 mpg but we can't afford to buy the vehicle, nope not buying that either, but heh, who am I to argue with the great one either. I will get to the P. O. pronto and recall my special package to you.

No worries I got room for 3 more horse heads on my living room wall, I've arranged them quite nicely I think.

After that I'll have to redo the man cave and make room for a dozen or so out there. I think I'm up to 19 at last count.
