a cast iron frying pan could be shaped and used as body armor? Has anyone ever shot one of those pans?

Yes it can....you can even use the hole in handle to hang from chain on your neck like a necklace.

I would expect one of those cast iron frying pans to shatter at the first shot, though... it's not steel... with some kind of "flexibility".

Buy a rifle target... the steel kind as big as you want... made for shooting with high-powered rifles... or magnum pistols.

You could use some of those in a carrier... having front and back pouches for such... "trauma" plates.

Bawanna, has your wife ever told you about getting a mammogram? Well, compared to what they do to "the girls", wearing a frying pan on your chest would be preferable.

What started me thinking about this was a friend bought a new cast iron frying pan. I looked at it and immediately thought of body armor and the gong that Hickok45 shoots in his videos.

I tried to focus and think about Hickok and his gong but I keep slipping back to "the girls". I think I'm cursed.

I think I saw Granny on the Beverly Hillbilly's use one once, oh no, that was as a weapon on Jethro.

Hey Melissa, Did you feel the earthquake today? You're closer that I am and I felt it the next state over.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

No, I didn't notice anything in GA. The news showed a map and said that tremors were felt in NC though.

I've got a large, old cast iron pan laying around in the garage.

I'll have to shoot it, with a watermelon as the backstop. (22LR/38SP/9mm/45ACP/357Mag should cover the basics.)

                  Hopefully Sunday.

I'll bring the video camera too.

                  Should be fun.

Just curious as to the need for body armor? Hitting some rough parts or town? I think a vest would cover more and be more comfortable and flexible.

I'm thinking cast iron is really brittle.
Likely to be easy to punch through with FMJs.

Too much time spent thinking about what I would need after an EMP attack.
