  • I think I'm done w/ Kahr customer NO service

This has been more than annoying. A week ago this past Thursday, I sent Kahr a brand new fired once, cracked magazine for my cm9. I emailed them this past Friday and was told that Kahr had "just received" it. I sent it FedEx 3day. Whatever. So, Yesterday I am told that they still havent "looked" at it and were sorry for my inconvenience. Sorry for my inconvenience is right!! I have NO mag for my pistol an thus no pistol! It's my only weapon as well. I told ten this. I am comparing this type of cust service to S&W. Had this been S&W rather than Kahr, I'd have received my mag last week. That my friends is the difference twix an old big historic maker rather than a smaller less equipped manufacturer. Also, they are having a MASSIVE return problem with the p380. It shows menthat A: they need to hire a he'll of allot more people AND fire their engineers and hire new ones as well as QC employees. This is bad looking and really will kill repeat buyer sales. Just MHO.

ur unhappy, peddle the gun when you get the magazine and buy a smith, great company, they make nice guns, ur never gonna be happy with a kahr it is very evident. we all want todays servicve YESTERDAY but sometimes itjust doesn't happen, coming on here and ventingt to us, who cannot do you one bit of good, IMO proves nadda.. If they just got the maazine, then damn give them a couple days to get you one out, I am very sure the person in receiving does not go tothe magazine bin and just grab u a new magazine and resend it to yoyu, loike you think maybe they should. there are controls in placed that heaven forbid, take alittle more time to get what seems simple to us. I understand ur not being hapyt with a new gun doing what it did, so be just truthful wilth you and not acting brash, just peddle it whenyou get the new magazine. Lots of great other guns out there, no one is welding you to kahrs, go for it.

This is a good example of "saving money" and not having spare magazines. See what happens when you have only one... and one carry weapon. You don't have to be rich to have two or three magazines(minimal to me) so that you will have a spare... at least one. You could have dropped it and broken it with the same results.

You're pretty impatient, intolerant, and unfair with Kahr Customer Service over ONE magazine.

It's a $30 magazine... no need to stress out so much. Go buy another and when Kahr sends you a replacement then you'll have a spare.

I hear ya, but we ordered a S&W spare mag for my wife and it took them 3 months to get it to us.....backordered. Fortunately we had a working mag, but realized we'd need a spare anyway. The moral of the story is it that all companies have delays, backorders, problems, etc... Doesn't mean they are a bad company....S&W or Kahr. Your issue did not change the opinion most of us have about Kahr nor S&W. Both are great companies. It is just how the stars alaign sometimes. As consumers we need to be prepared in advance as much as humanly possible for such dark cloud events. Hope you get your mag back sooner rather than later and realize you should have already ordered a spare. Mags break too. Best wishes.

Customer service is as good as the person answering the phone. Unfortunately ALL COMPANIES have people who may not be the best at any one day. Have some patience.

Many of you won't want to hear this but let's face it...Kahr Arms has a BIG problem with their mags for the PM9 and CMP pistols. They need to get together with whomever the outside vendor is that they use to make their mags and get this problem straightened out. These problems can not be good for business.

I don't own any other Kahr pistols so I don't read any of the other forums here except those that pertain to my PM9 or similar related topics. I don't know if there are problems with the mags for the other Kahr models and don't care either.

I took my PM9 to the range yesterday for the third time and fired 204 rds. thru it. I used a new replacement 6-rd. mag covered under warranty for one of the two that I had split during my initial range session w/the PM9.
Guess what? You bet...the follower broke after the first 12 rounds thru it.

Two out of five mags split on the maiden voyage for my PM9. This is a 40% failure rate with brand new mags. NOT good by a long shot.

I e-mailed Kahr CS as soon as I got home and asked in a polite manner that the follower be replaced. In less than a couple of hours, I received a return e-mail letting me know that they were sending me three (3) new followers, just in case.

I will not or can not criticize Kahr Arms CS but I sure as Hell will criticize their mags.

I had a conversation with a fellow shooter at my gun club yesterday after the mag failed. When he saw that the pistol was a Kahr, his first comment was, "you couldn't give me a @!#$%&* Kahr". They have too many problems!

I did not completely agree or disagree with him and told him that my PM9 has functioned 100% except for the mag problems. His comment, "well then, it isn't 100%, is it"?

ur friend is half right, no excuse for busted magazsine followers, just none that I can think of. A busted follower might as well in that exact moment be a broken striker pin, THE GUJ IS DISABLED. that is such a clean break to, looking at that follower why not fill that gap in on both sides of where the spring rides to give that front and back part of the follower some good support.. That would have to have some merits, course what the hell do WE know, we only shoot them..

I had one follower break on my PM9 and it was in the front portion, in 32K rounds. Never an issue since, but I have a spare on hand to.

Okay the. Here tough guys, this ain't the first issue with this gun. The can spring broke the day I bought it. I was only venting. But I y'all want to be blind and follow obediently to a company that obvious has serious issues thene be my guest. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when the gunbi spent over $400 on broke before using it.

G-d willing nothing will happen to me or my family until I get the mag. What would u say then if something happened to me or my family and I couldnt repel it v/c I had no gun? An if any of you "rich" boys think I'm being cheap somehow by not immediately running out and buying another mag, your crazy. I dont gave the money. Personal finances are what they are. Not all of us can be blessed. For that I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come across as a **** or whatever- I am very irritated and just frustrated with the overall speed of things I just want it to work.

That follower looks like it failed along a mold line and or where it changed in size. jocko it is probably an economy of material issue. No big cost deal on one mag but when you are making thousands upon thousands of them the additional material can add up and especially in the cost area.

Sometimes companies can be penny wise and pound foolish. As to the op it is a lack of planning to only have one magazine. I would never CCW if I did not have at least 6 mags for the gun. I have at least that many mags for each and every magazine loaded weapon I have.

Mags are the week point in any self loader. I consider mags expendable and do not get my panties in a bunch if one craps out. I throw it away and get another one. Pretty simple actually.

                    Patience is an acquired virtue.

wyntrout I keep the follower, spring, and butt plate. But if the mag body is dinged it is supremely misguided/miserly/cheap minded to attempt to repair it, it is just not worth it to me. My life and the lives of my loved ones is astronomically more valuable to me than the cheap price to replace a mag. In self defense situations cost is the last factor I consider.

Well Kahr just emailed back. Apparently they told me wrong earlier and apologised profusely. I am happier now as the mag's in route as of yesterday. The part that made me quite irritated was that the magazine just sat at Kahr for about 5-6 days before they realised what was going on. Had I not wrote an email it would prolly still be there waiting! It should be here by Thursday. Hope it don't break again!

Us too. The solution is multiple mags. My CCW kit includes two (2) spare mags. You never know how big the problem might be. Better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

                              jeffe007,
For what it's worth, hang in there. Kahrs are NOT perfect, but then what gun made by human hands IS perfect? I'm a newbie to Kahrs and was given a PM9 as a gift from a good friend (better friend, now!) All the bad press I've read has been offset by the good press and the reality of holding that PM9 in my hand, and trusting it to help defend my family. I spent a couple of hours studying my 3 magazines (measuring, disassembling, polishing) and found ALL THREE feed flawlessly and fall freely when I hit the button. I know it's a matter of time before something goes wrong, but if I'm wise I'll be the first to catch it. Until then, I'm going to enjoy my Kahr and thank the Lord for my trusty Ruger SP101 revolver at the same time.
God is good, ALL the time!
