mrs. surv is the Emelda Marcos of the flip-flop world. I think she's got enough of them things to shingle the roof with. At least they're cheap

              Texas heat

Not sure how long those flip-flops would last in the Texas heat. Might need to ask Romney/Kerry/Clinton/Politicians to borrow a few just in case.

none of the above mentioned flip-floppers would last long in my neck of the piney woods.

                  1,000th post

Well, I really wanted to do something better than this for my 1000th post but it kinda snuk up on me. So what better than a joke stolen from another forum! :9:

A man wakes up one morning in Alaska to find a bear on his roof. So he looks in the yellow pages and sure enough, there's an ad for "Bear Removers." He calls the number, and the bear remover says he'll be over in 30 minutes.

The bear remover arrives, and gets out of his van. He's got a ladder, a baseball bat, a shotgun and a mean old pit bull.

"What are you going to do," the homeowner asks?

"I'm going to put this ladder up against the roof, then I'm going to go up there and knock the bear off the roof with this baseball bat. When the bear falls off, the pit bull is trained to grab his testicles and not let go. The bear will then be subdued enough for me to put him in the cage in the back of the van."

He hands the shotgun to the homeowner.

"What's the shotgun for?" asks the homeowner. "If the bear knocks me off the roof, shoot the dog."

Off to Bahrain this afternoon, so if the IP address at the hotel I'm at is banned, no more KahrTalk for the next 10 days!

MW, some day I'd like to know what it is that you do. Not so much nosy, just curious (or is that being nosy?).

Wow, I just received a brand new, still in the bag, Kahr cap. So proud I am and it's thanks to my buddy Bawanna!! I tried it on and my wife got a big smile and said I look cute. I think she's a sucker for guys in uniform so I'll wear it a lot, especially to the range. Thanks Mighty-B! You rock!!

What I like about the Kahr cap is that practically no one outside the gun community knows it's a gun hat.

                            Not too sure myself!

What I think that I do is look at just about anything marine related (ships and drilling rigs mostly) for the insurance underwriters. Mainly my job is to reduce the risk that a marine type unit is exposed to.

My job in Bahrain will be to oversee the loading and securing of of a jackup rig onto the deck of a ship for transport from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea area. The ship submerges its deck and the drilling rig is floated over the deck, held in position over the deck and then the ship is refloated, picking up the drilling unit onto its deck. The drilling unit will then be secured in place. After secured, the ship transports the rig to where it needs to go, submerges and the rig is floated off.

                            Simple as that.

Gotta go pack! Danged naps make me run late.

This is being sent to you in hopes that you too like "wordology"...........but moreso this new word (we hope) and its' profound implication.

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable of leading are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or to succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

                                Too true!
