Nice! My bud at work has one and loves it.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
      --Thomas Jefferson (1764).

Well I was thinking about that.
I've got about 6 months of savings for the new truck.
Then one more month for the money for the HK.
Or, could just buy and love the HK right now.
And just wait an extra month for the new truck.

So I did the responsible thing and bought the HK - Woo Hoo.

Man, that thing looks ginormous after owning a Kahr. What's that big thing where your hands go?

Actually it's a compact and is almost exactly the same size, and loaded weight, of my Sig Sauer P239.
Except the HK is 13+1 not 7+1 like the P239.
Even fits in the same holster.
The grip is about the same thickness too.
I'd say it's about the size of a Glock G19 with a thinner grip.

This was my first try, close range, with the HK LEM Law enforcement modification double action trigger.
I never heard of anything like this.
              It's actually got two hammers.
The internal one is pre-cocked and you drive the second with the trigger.
Or If you get a dud round the trigger can drive both hammers for a double strike!

              I have the V2 LEM. It's like 8 lbs?
HK Spring changes also produce the V4 LEM ~6 lbs
and V1 light LEM ~4.5/5 lbs.

I've got the spring set, a third mag and Big Dots in the mail.
Apparently Germany frowns on radioactive night sights.

I see it! I see it!

More picks of my new girl...
Her grip angle feels reminiscent of a 1911 to me.

Oh, I know it's not a large gun objectively, but I'm comparing to a PM9 - that HK has got so much more to hold on to!

Enjoy the gun Barth. I have the P30 in 9mm V3. I love that gun. I only have 3000 rounds through it but it is so reliable and accurate that training sessions get boring. The gun is so good that it makes me look like I know what I am doing. :53:

                      Cheers

Shotguns pattern, handguns group. Let's try to use the proper terminology around here, Bawanna. Only Jocko's groups look like patterns. The test pattern for channel 9.

Nice catch, Barth. The only thing I don't like on the H&K is that damn square trigger guard. Guns, like women, should have no sharp corners.

                            Thanks!
I had a HK USP 45 compact years ago.
Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it.
Was so embarrassing and frustrating to shoot I got rid of it.

I was hoping the new improved ergonomics of the P30 might change all that.
Couldn't find one to rent to check it out so I just took a leap of faith.
I'm really into triggers too. And dry firing the LEM was the kicker for me.
Plus the new gun had a $949 price. I told the sales girl, drop $49 to $900 and
I'll buy it right now. She had to check with the owner and I left with the gun!

Went shooting yesterday, just 200 rounds, and I'm in love with this gun.
It's everything I want in a carry pistol.
Ultimate ergonomics, near match accurate, perfect size weight and balance.
The LEM gives a same every time light striker feel to the trigger with
double strike hammer DA capability. I had a 357 with a hard primer that required a second strike from my P239!

Just field striping the gun you can see and feel the quality.
No buyers remorse at all, just a big smile!

I think that is cut back and cornered for mounting a weapon light or other accesory on the rail, right? That's why I thought Glocks were like that as well.
